location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 14, 2011
I'm having issues with Ubuntu 8.04 to see my Intel 82574L ethernet card. Ubuntu is not detecting it at all.
I downloaded the drivers from
copied it to the server, untarred, make install ,and now i'm getting notifications that kernel-devel is not installed. I installed linux-headers from the install cd ( ihave the alternate and server one), but i cannot find any kernel-devel or linux-kernel-devel. The driver still does not want to build after installing linux-headers.
Any suggestions what i can do. I need to use Ubuntu 8.04 due to some specific requirements, do i need the network cards to work.

[SOLVED] Lenovo s205 Linux mint Grub problem.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 29, 2011
Hello. I recently bought a new laptop and since I love Linux the first thing I did was to create a linux mint bootable usb with UNetbootin. Then wiped the hdd and installed mint without any trouble. But when I rebooted the computer got stuck at Grub loading and then reboot in an infinite loop.
Then I boot it up from the live-usb and tries to find an answer with google. And I finds this.
I follow the instructions but the computer is still stuck at a loop at bootup.
I suspect that it may has something to do with my grub configuration.
Puppy Linux Intel Gigabit Card Drivers
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 7, 2013
I currently have a Lenovo Desktop PC running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS which works like a dream. I also have a bootable USB drive running Puppy Linux which appears to be working just fine when I boot into it except for the network card (which works no problem with Ubuntu).
The network card is an Intel 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Card rev 02. I have attempted to install the module manually from the list available which looks to include quite a few Intel modules for the Intel cards. None of which manage to detect the network card once loaded.
I ran the 'ifconfig' command and it only shows up the 'lo' adaptor and no eth0 interface. I even tried 'ifconfig eth0 up' but still with no luck.
I have downloaded the Linux tar.gz driver file from the Intel support page, however, that is where my limited knowledge of installing the package now ends. Could someone please explain to me how to now install the package in Puppy so that I can get my network card working?
I looked through the readm
