Which USB multiboot supports Win 7 install, Hiren and Linux on same pendrive?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 14, 2013
I made an NTFS flash drice using Yumi, the Win 7 Install image and Hiren's Boot CD works, but none of the Linux ISOs (Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse, etc.) What's the problem? Is there a better one than Yumi?
If I want to have a Windows 7 image as well, (and otherwise) it is better to use NTFS, right?
On a separate occasion, Damn Small Linux and Puppy worked from the same NTFS drive.
Linux Sendmail Configs using SMTP and Exchange
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 24, 2012
We're currently using Sendmail on our Linux box and it looks like it sends mail through port 25 using localhost settings in sendmail. I'm not seeing any reference in my configs to our Exchange system. Does Linux send email out through it's own SMTP or does it go through Exchange and I'm just not seeing the settings?
Thanks for your help understanding.
[SOLVED] how to config NGINX for multiple domains with wordpress on Debian?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 20, 2010
Ok, so I have VPS installed with Debian, NGINX, mysql, php and wordpress. By default the template gives 1 wordpress install in the /var/www/ directory.
However, now I want to add more domains with wordpress to that VPS.
I created a directory called /home/public_html/domain1.com and linked it to the /var/www/ directory.
then I created another directory called /home/public_html/domain2.com and uploaded wordpress there.
What I did next was edit my /etc/nginx/nginx.conf file with the following code:

[SOLVED] multiple domains in resolv.conf
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 14, 2010
I have multiple domains and nameservers that I have add to my resolv.conf to resolv hostnames on two subnets. Running Solaris10 x86. System has two Nics, each connected to a different network.
Trying to have my system resolve hosts on two different domains. I have read a post (2008) but the file details were missing:
options domain-name "bu.edu"
I can resolve hosts in the spartan domain, but not the bu.edu domain
hecate:/etc> host userB.spartans
userB.spartans has address 172.20.0.3
hecate:/etc> host morta.bu.edu
Host morta.bu.edu not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
My nsswitch.conf file has the following:
hosts: files dns
/etc/hosts file also lists the hosts/ip's
Seems like I am missing a directive or the order of the directives is overwriting something..
Kerberos+Winbind+Samba (Multiple domains one forest)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 5, 2011
We have a master domain with a child domain in the same forest. The situation is that all users’ accounts are in the master domain and the computers are in the child domain.
Let assume following:
MASTER.DOMAIN.COM – is the master domain with few KDC. Users’ object sits here.
CHILD.DOMAIN.COM – this is where the computer account sits.
Here is what I am trying to do.
I would like to join my Linux hosts (Centos/Ubuntu) to the Windows Active Directory system. Ideally this should include: SSH logon (openssh), Samba, and system logon.
So far I identified that I need to configure Kerberos and samba in the right way so I will be able to join the system to the domain. That however after many attempts has not been successful due to as I believe complexity of this configuration.
I am wondering if someone have similar arrangement and possibly have a working solution.
Ps. I am looking for opensource solution and I tried already Likewise
IPA on RHEL 6.1. Creating multiple domains.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 31, 2011
I hope I chose the right forum for my question.
I'm evaluating IPA on Red Hat Enterprise 6.1 and everything works fine but I couldn't find anything neither on the documentation nor on internet about "how to setup multiple ldap domains".
Basically on Solaris 10 server I had three ldap domains: 1.com, 2.com and the globaldomain.com.
1.com and 2.com contained the referrals to the globaldomain.
Now I must reproduce this environment on Linux RHEL with IPA, but at the moment, I really can't find a way to do the same.
Is there someone who knows if is possible to setup multiple ldap domains on the same server and if is not, can you provide me the source of the information?
If really I can't do it, I have to proove that.
Thank you very much in advance.
Can't Access Local Account Because Same Username Exists on NIS Server
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 19, 2008
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
I just started using Ubuntu this summer to replace an existing university Red Hat computer lab. I have an existing Red Hat nis/nfs server and just today managed to add an Ubuntu client to the Red Hat nis/nfs server domain.
Here is the problem: I have been configuring my Ubuntu client through (local) username harvey. That is where I have been saving my command history to refer to when I roll this thing out.
I forgot that there is also a username harvey on the Red Hat server. As soon as the client joined the domain (if that is the term, I am not very good with Linux), I could no longer log into local harvey on the client. And thus cannot see and print my command history.
Does anyone know of a way to see the harvey command history. It does not matter how drastic the step because now that this thing is working, I am going to blow it out. Then I will have to create an Ubuntu nis/nfs server and life will be good. Unless someone strongl
Mail Server Setup for multiple domains
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 4, 2010
Im moving all my websites on a dedicated box. I had a cpanel hosting account, and now moving to a terminal and ssh system.
I need some advice on choosing my mail setup. I need POP, SMTP, with multiple domains, as host for a few clients.
I would like the most simple version.
The server will only send +- 100 mails / day.
I currently running Ubuntu Linux 10.04.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Send only mail server with multiple domains
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 25, 2014
I am not an expert on Ubuntu, but I did manage to move a few personal blogs from my shared hosting to a VPS. These are low volume sites and I do have daily backups, so I am not worried about experimenting. I was able to get everything running as I want, except for email and I hope people over here will be able to give me some guidance.
Need only MTA to send system mails, registration, IP ban, comment notification. Incoming mail is never checked and is hosted on Google apps.Email has to go from respective domains.
After playing around with postfix, I was able to send mail from my primary domain, but not with the other 2 which are hosted. I suspect either 1 or more of the below reasons to be the problem.
The first domain has vps.example1.com pointing towards the server IP, the other 2 doesn't.Destination domains in postfix configuration. Should it contain all domains from where I need to send email? "Destination" is confusing.Should Hosts file contain loopback ip for each do
