Gaming on Linux has long been a hit and miss exercise in frustration. Some users tried to get WINE working well enough to run Windows games on Linux, while others built Linux native games. As of last week, Linux users won't need to struggle nearly as much to get great games. Valve announced the official debut of Steam for Linux. With Steam for LInux, users will now gain access to a large library of titles including Counter-Strike, Half-Life and Team-Fortress 2 that will run on Linux.

In recent years, there has been no shortage of new Ubuntu derivatives to cater to different needs. Those have including different desktop editions (Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu) and needs (ie. Ubuntu Studio Edition). Now Canonical, the lead sponsor behind Ubuntu is building a new version of Ubuntu specifically for China. The new version is call Kylin and is being developed in partnership with government agencies in China. Kylin will have Chinese language input and localization and will also have a Chinese calendar. The first version of Kylin will coincide with the Ubuntu 13.04 release set to debut in April. Moving beyond the initial release, Canonical plans on providing further specific Chinese integrations including the use of Baidu maps and Taobao shopping.

I would like to invite anybody that has a website that contains Linux instructions, distro info, forum or personal websites that have a variety of things including Linux.
No that I have invited people why did I start yet another toplist. Well the answer is simple. There is nothing specifically targeting Linux users. You have websites that link to each other, Google linux and thats about all I could find. I am in the process of starting a few things to help further bring the Linux community together. One of them is getting those who have personal websites that have links to other websites, example music, games, etc, that is compatible with Linux programs. A lot of places now have somethings but not all and it can get frusutrating finding places, like music, videos, games and so on that work with Linux. I am tired of going to a website to find a message that says that you need windows media player or that they do not support Mac's at this time(and I don't even own a mac, lol.) This w
linux top command shows odd value in TIME+ column

I run top and sort by TIME+ column. Notice that the first process' TIME+ has an odd format.
That large value shows up the moment I run this program and never changes. Is this a bug in top.

Ubuntu 12.10 includes features that are supposed to make it easier for users to find the stuff they want. One example is the Amazon integration which helps users by showing them stuff they might want if they are searching. According to Free Software Foundation (FSF) Founder Richard Stallman (RMS), Ubuntu is actually 'spying' on users.

GNOME developers have released the final beta of what will become GNOME 3.6. The GNOME 3.5.91 is set to be followed by 3.5.92 on September 19th (the release candidate). The full final general availability for GNOME 3.6 IS currently set for September 26th.
