Cloud Computing for (private) Linux users?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 22, 2010
I was trying to understand the term "Cloud Computing" since Microsoft and other companies don't really say, what this Cloud Computing is all about. (Or I didn't hear anything about it...)
I was on the CeBit 2010 and there were so many booths about Cloud Computing with so many application areas but I couldn't find a simple and plain answer to "what exactly Cloud Computing is?".
So I searched the web and found many things, for example, Google's services are based on Cloud Computing (or they are CC). As far as I understood, you can access Cloud Computing programs through your browser, if it has an interface.
Well, then there were arguments for CC (sorry, I don't like to type this name all the time...) that you don't have to spend money on buying licenses.
Since I'm a full-time Linux user and I prefer OSS and software, that is free of charge, I didn't had to spend a penny for software licenses.
I also heard of Ubuntu CC but is there really a need for it?

Why do I get a certificate error trying to setup a Ubuntu Cloud?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: September 8, 2011
I'm trying to install an Ubuntu cloud on my home network - I've been following this guide.
When I arrived at STEP 6: Install an image from the store PART 3: Click on the Store tab I get the following error message on the page:
Error 60: server certificate verification failed. CAfile:
/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt CRLfile: none
There seems to be something wrong with the certificate but I have no idea how to solve this, help is really appreciated.
How do I deploy an OpenStack cloud with Juju?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: June 3, 2014
I'd like to get a test cloud up and running in preparation for a possible deployment of 12.04. I messed with the UEC a bit, but have had a much harder time finding anything helpful as a primer for the new stack. There is generic documentation on Diablo, but there are likely to be a lot of pieces already handy in Ubuntu that a specific guide could save time with.
Also, as much as I would love to, my budget doesn't include the $4-6k to get a small cluster running with the Canonical support.
How to setup a private dedicated Node.js Ubuntu Server?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: June 18, 2013
I found an old PC and i want to use it as a dedicated Node.js test machine.
Basically i wanna write my apps on a win machine then copy them over samba to the node folder and launch them via ssh. Later, I would add an upstart script and copy it with samba to the server so that when i reboot the app starts automatically every time.
What do I need to install in order to properly run Node.js apps on my network on a dedicated Ubuntu server? Here is the list I came up with, please correct me if I'm wrong. Is there anything else?
samba (ftp or sftp should be the way to go but as it's a closed internal network and i have to access it from various os's samba is the simplest way to share files not considering security issues..most of the time i use a simple text editor)

How to setup a simple local linux proxy that caches all HTTP requests for offline browsing
location: linuxexchange.com - date: April 22, 2015
is there a simple way to setup a local proxy on a linux pc that caches ALL HTTP requests in ANY case ('hard refresh' ..., after some time ...), if it has loaded the resource ONCE, configurable by URL/host patterns white list / black list? There should be a possibility to clear the cache for specific resources or at least to clear the complete cache by cli command or web interface.
Thanks in advance
