HowTo: Maemo Mapper on the Nokia N8x0
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 30, 2008
The N810 is the first device I ever owned that had a GPS. The geek in me couldn't wait to learn 1st hand what I could do with a GPS. I felt there was a real need for a task oriented HowTo and there's no better way to learn than to teach. http://fragostech.com/MaemoMapper/ is the result of that effort. I will be updating the HowTo as Maemo Mapper has new releases and when I find more questions about GPS that need answering. I welcome comments from user community and the opportunity to make this an even more useful document.
LXer: Nokia’s Maemo OS – The next big wave

Published at LXer:
Trends in computers come in waves. Developers are like surfers on the shore spying out the horizon looking out for the next big one. Today I write about a wave that is just now starting to take shape, looks almost innocuous, but that has the potential to be a great ride as well – Nokia’s Maemo operating system.

Zim won't start

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead.
Mine has simply stopped working. Won't open at all in my netbook (running 10.04 LTS), despite working as well as ever on 11.10. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling via Software Centre, no luck. Does not give any warning or error, simply won't start.
Has anyone had a comparable problem?

Forum Nokia workshop on Maemo/Meego
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 15, 2010
Hi, I'm posting this to to ask you guys if you are interested in participating in a 2-day workshop on Maemo/Meego sponsored by Forum Nokia. I was approached by Nokia a few days ago regarding this initiative and asked for my help in inviting a small group of developers to be part of an initial workshop/community building exercise for Maemo/Meego. This would be a small group, not exceeding 15 people so if you believe you have someone you know that would benefit of this, please let me know as well so I can forward it to Forum Nokia.
We are preferably looking for experienced software developers who would be interested in developing mobile applications. So actual software development experience in a mobile or enterprise is very much desired.
The workshop will be held around April; we are targeting April 28 to 29 at a hotel in Metro Manila (most likely Makati).
My work here is to just identify and invite; Forum Nokia will be the one to send the formal invitation and the specifics of the

I have a Nokia N900 which is a great and very powerful device. I know you can upgrad it to Meego and some other OS. I have several Linux devices but I really don't know how to do the upgrade. For example my N900 doesn't have Flash for news sites to view the videos.
Does anyone have any Maemo expertise please.
