Kindle Fire HD vs Nexus 7?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 6, 2012
If you were going to get one which would it be and why? Ubuntu looks cool on the 7 but probably something I wouldn't use. I'm accustomes to regular android on my phone so that's another selling point for the 7. Then again the hdmi out on the fire hd is really appealing as well as the supposedly awesome wifi. My android phone barerly works on wifi where i would primarily use the tablet but my laptop,ps3,and 360 all work in that spot. Also i plan on reupping my prime subscription eventually. How bad is the amazon version of android? Also anyone root a fire hd yet?
Seagate 2T HD vs WD 2T HD
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 17, 2012
I'm prepared to buy a 2T HD for home use. I have been running WD Caviar Black series for sometimes, having full confidence on its performance and quality. However on searching I found Seagate ST2000VX000 2TB Barracuda offering much better price, very interesting.
Seagate ST2000VX000 2TB Barracuda SV35.5 SATA3 6Gb/s /64MB HDD (7x24 Digital Video)
WD Caviar Black 2002FAEX 2TB SATA3/64MB HDD
SATA Hard Drives
Maximum performance for power computing
Could you please shed me some light on selecting them? Is the quality of "Seagate ST2000VX000 2TB Barracuda" reliable? What about its performance vs WD Caviar Black 2002FAEX 2TB?

SATA HD vs. USB Flash under Ubuntu
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 10, 2008
Hello, I'm new in linux world (my only approach was a couple of instalation on laptops and running some live CD's) and don't know even if this thread goes here, but I decided put it here because Ubuntu is the distro that I pretend to use.
Let me be more specific:
After study a lot of options (including the use of WXP) I decide to mount a small cibercafe using Ubuntu as OS in all the PC's (because this OS have a good relation in hardware requeriments, hardware support, flexibility, interfase similiar to WXP/Vista, costs, licencies, comunity support, and other issues), and wonder if can I use a USB flash of 4Gb (or even less) attached to each PC for run the OS and a NAS disk or a PC server dedicated to save customers files and downloads for decrease costs...
OPTION 1 (if there where more PC's on this network could be the best option)
USB 2.0 4Gb Flash drive USD$13.00 seven needed (one per client PC)
NAS enclosure USD$181.00 one needed
SATA II disk 500Gb USD$81.00 one needed

Noob vs. Sony Vaio
location: linux.com - date: October 5, 2014
I am as noob as noob can be. I'm trying to set-up our Sony Vaio Laptop for my 8 year old so he can have his own machine to do homework, play games, and learn to code. My intent is to clear out the windows OS and leave him with a Linux OS. I've attempted to install Zorin. If someone recommends something else I'm open.
- The machine is a Vaio VGN-NW130J with vista loaded. However, it has problems as I can't get past the logon with my windows vista account (it crashes when I enter the password).
- I'm trying to load Zorin 9 32-bit educational lite via DVD.
- I've accessed the BIOS and set it to read the "internal optical drive".
- I've had no luck getting it to boot to the Zorin OS via the DVD.
I tried to find various solutions on the net for several hours. I've picked up pieces of info that Vaio doesn't work with Linux machines but I've found youtube videos of people pulling it off. I'm hoping someone can help me step through this. Thanks in advance for any a

Anyone willing to help me install Ubuntu Touch on a Xperia Z Ultra will be helping me to make AAA quality games for both Ubuntu Touch and The Ubuntu Desktop environment.
I won't buy a Nexus Device. The Xperia Z Ultra went down to $449.99 and comes already with an unlocked bootloader.
Help me get rid of Sketch3D Pro for android and get MODO and Blender with Ubuntu Touch. Thanks.

EAP-SIM initiated by Sony Xperia mobile not reaching Access Point or AP not forwarding EAP-SIM message to Free Radius server.
Am facing a problem in EAP-SIM evaluation with free radius. Please find the below points and help me out....
1. Using Sony Xperia as User End. Dlink dir615 or linksys wrt120n for access point and free radius as
2. Free radius tested with eap-sim option with the help of eap-sim06 test client provided with free radius,
its working fine.
3. If i configure PEAP on free radius and Dlink as AP with Xperia as UE, its working fine.
4. If i configure EAP-SIM on free radius and if i select SIM option on Xperia, am not getting access-request on free radius.
> Is AP supports partial EAP. Like supporting PEAP, TLS, TTLS and leaving SIM and AKA ?
> If AP not supports SIM, still can we do something to get access request ? coz specs tell old AP should
