vb.net linux IDE
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 24, 2011
Hi guys. I am a huge ubuntu fan and suggest it as the first choice to try out linux. I am an engineering student and I know that linux really holds its own when it comes to programming. So it surprised me when I didnt find a software/package for using VB and other .NET languages.
A good free tool is SharpDevelop ( www.icsharpcode.net/opensource/sd/ ). But then again it works for Windows only. Its not that I havent tried Wine. I just want to include it in the livecd that I have created using Ubuntu 10.04. Any idea on how to do this ? Or will I have to go the windows way ( download/copy and install everytime ) ??
I've just been so far as to create and use various components like command buttons , checkboxes , text boxes etc. Could you suggest me a linux equivalent software on which I can do this ?
Thanks in advance to all.

Eclipse And Netbeans IDE. Java.
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 10, 2012
So i'am wondering. What does Java developers use at the high levels. Is Eclipse better suited after the beginning stages when your starting to get more in debt with Java, and Netbeans better suited for the beginning when starting to learn.
I have learned about Java for a little while now, and would like to get more into Android and Blackberry OS 10 development. But from what i can tell, their is better plugin support for Eclipse in that regard than with Netbeans. Or am i mistaken?
Anyways. You learn each day, and hopefully i learn something new today again.
Thanks on advance.

I have searched and searched and searched (on google, ubuntu, ubuntuforums, eclipse, eclipseforums) but not been able to figure out how to install the eclipse IDE and CDT on my newly created ubuntu linux system 8.04.1 - sigh.I give up. So where-and-how do I download and install the most recent version of eclipse IDE and CDT on ubuntu 8.04.1 (32-bit) so I can continue developing my 3D simulation/graphics/game engine? Also, what else might I need to download and install to do OpenGL 2.0+ and GLSL development in C/C++ with eclipse? For example, are all the C/C++ standard libraries already installed, or do they too need to be found/downloaded/installed?

[SOLVED] Arduino MEGA 2560 REV3, Arduino IDE working software versions
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 30, 2012
I purchased an Arduino MEGA 2560 REV3 board and couldn't program it using slackware-current and the avr-* and Arduino IDE package versions from slackbuilds.org.
I used the slackbuilds.org slackbuilds as a basis for newer version packages just by changing the version number in the .Slackbuild, downloading newer source from the site of the slackbuilds source link, and building my own package.
Here are the software versions that work for me:
