what is the best distro for web developers...mysql, php, and apache required
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 23, 2005
Alright, I'm a web / multimedia designer who is very quickly becoming a web developer out of necessity. I plan on setting up a test server in my LAN at home to work on projects. Chances are the server is going to be on the slow side, it will be whatever I can get my hands on for free or near free. But since I will be the only one on it that shouldn't be a problem.
Anyway, my question is what do people think is the best distribution to use as a web server? I plan on loading MySQL and Apache, and I will be using PHP. I run Fedora Core on my laptop, which is fine for me, but I want something a little less bleeding edge for the server. Plus its a chance to play with a new distribution which is always fun. Thanks in advance!

Need help configuring Apache, MySQL, PHP on Centos Linux
location: linuxexchange.com - date: April 26, 2012
I am new to Linux (CentOS) and have been trying to setup
up this web application https://github.com/craigrodway/printmaster on CentOS for the
last couple hours.
The instruction from the author is a bit vague for a newbie like me:
Create directory on webserver to store files (configure as virtual
host or subdir)
Copy all Print Master files to the folder you just created
Create a new directory called session where you extracted the files and make it writeable
Create a new username and database in MySQL
Import the printmaster.sql file into the new database
$db line in inc/init.php to reflect your database details Invent your
own security (.htaccess, integrated Windows authentication...)
I try to follow the instruction from guide in the wiki section but still could not get it to work: https://github.com/craigrodway/printmaster/wiki/Installation-on-Linux
Here is a history of what I did
Installed / configured Apache Server following this instruction:

Clustered Environment on RedHat/CentOs Apache, PHP, MySQL
location: linuxexchange.com - date: February 20, 2014
I need to setup environment for large service, written in PHP 5. I need all services to be set up in clustered environment (load-balanced and/or failover cluster). What solution is most popular and most used today on RedHat Enterprise / Centos?
I think there should be some proxy server for Apache (to serve cached data if possible) and MySqL in clustered environment (but I don't really like MySQL Cluster edition, since it uses its own table engine with some unacceptable limitations).
I'm rather looking for some solution that can be applied on system level (CentOS/RHEL in my case). Do you have any tips where to start and what to use?
