I have problems with one or more hackers.. I try to read the log to find out how much access they have now, or if they really have any access anymore(I installed ubuntu again) But i have done it many times now, and after a day or two he is back again..
When i use VPN they/him(or here, i just refere to the hacker as "Geoffrey" from now on..
When i use the VPN "Geoffrey" send a DDOS attack or something so my network's go mad.. The same happens on different OS, different computers, and different routers! So it is not hardware or software that make the problem, it cant be..
The main reason i started using ubuntu again is because of "Geoffrey", because he used RDP and RCP, remote desktop to take full control over my computer.. And i have an idea of who it is, and he is not that good when it come to linux(And true enough i had "holiday" from "Geoffrey" a month or so, but then it started again.
I have reasons to be hacked as

Bringing me to now, Kubuntu.
I have a few questions. First something happened, and the task bar /tool bar doesn't show the programs I have open ex: Firefox, isn't down there and it's only on half the screen, any clues on how to get that back?
I never got them to work on windows 7, or ubuntu, and now with kubuntu stll no luck. My major concern is the touch pad not working, for the mouse, It would be really wonderful if it would work. I'm not sure why it don't work, I downloaded avialible drivers, nothing.
The less major but could very likelly be connected lol My FN-key functions don't work, I could really care less about those becau
Need some help after reinstall, "no such device" and "grub rescue"
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 10, 2014
I had previously successfully installed Ubuntu 12.04, but it installed as 32 bit.
I decided to re-install as 64 bit.
I deleted the installed ubuntu partitions - I couldn't find any method of normal uninstall.
All went well until I booted up - I got an error that said something like: "no such device" and "grub rescue".
I googled, found a "solution", and tried to follow it, with the following bad results shown on the terminal output, below.
How do I fix this without wrecking my non-ubunutu partitions/files?

I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes

Really need some help stuck in Ubuntu
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 21, 2015
So I built a PC and my copy of Windows 7 hadn't arrived, so I downloaded and installed Ubuntu as the full OS from a dvd. Just so I had a way of using it.
I now have my copy of Windows 7 and when I try to install and get to "Set up is copying temporary files", I get the following message: "Windows cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. To install Windows, make sure that a partition on your boot disk has at least 890 megabytes (MB) of free space."
If someone could put me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
I'm not great with this kinda stuff so any help is good help.

[SOLVED] Need some help for installing Drupal 7.7...
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 22, 2011
I am trying to set up Drupal 7.7 on my Slackware 13.37 32-bit Lenovo PC.
I seem to have succeeded in installing Apache & MySql.
I have created a MySql database called test.
I have extracted Drupal 7.7 to the /var/www/htdocs/Drupal-7.7 directory.
At this point, I am stumped.
The 'Drupal 7 Bible' says:
'Point your browser to the directory where you placed your Drupal files to see the Drupal installation wizard appear.'
I do not know how to do this, i.e. I do not know what character string I am suppose to type into the firefox browser.
Any help would be appreciated. Also, if I have made any mistakes up to this point, I would like to know.
Need some help with USB MBR drive and SystemrescueCD
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 14, 2008
Hi guys. First of all, congrats on gaining a new convert
I have a Sandisk 8GB USB drive and I've been trying to get it to boot the linux systemrescuecd per instructions here. I haven't had any luck, however, the process worked just fine on some smaller USB devices I had. Both the small devices and my 8GB device were formatted with FAT32. Before I waste my evening away, is there something I don't know about these larger USB devices that makes them unbootable? What linux command could I run create a MBR on my usb device? I'm not really looking for specific advice I suppose, just if any of you have experience with these Sandisk 8GB Cruzer Micros, or any other larger USB device, are they bootable? Thanks
First time playing with dnsmasq, need some help/advice.
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 18, 2014
Hello everyone, I've set up dnsmasq on my headless server to act as a DHCP server for my network and an internal DNS which forwards as needed. However I'm having some problems and I think it stems from my ignorance overall.
The intent of my setup is to manage IP's on my local network from a central source, and to provide access to various shared services via name resolution like service.home.lan. Eventually I would like to get a wireless access point setup on wlan1.
So some specific things that I've noticed with my current configuration that don't work:
If I go to foo.home.lan and it doesn't exist I'm always redirected to intranet.home.lan. Is this a DNS issue or related to my apache configuration? If for some reason my server is down, I'd like the clients to use a secondary DNS server (e.g. 18.104.22.168). Is there a way I can configure that in dnsmasq?I have no idea what to do with IPv6. I've read through various documents on it, but one thing that's remained unclear is what private

Fedora/linux newbie! need some help

I just installed Fedora Core 3 on a dual boot one HDD Intel system. I cut my 40 GB hdd into the windows partition (23 GB) a swap partition (1 GB) and the new Linux Partition (14 GB). i have some issues
1. I cant access my windows partition from Linux cos i have all my docs and music and stuff there.. like when i try to access it from my computer in linux it says that the drive is already mounted. ARGGHH.. the linux partition is Ext3 and the Windows is NTFS
2. Im trying to install the yum.conf file that i got from the unofficial fedora faq to the /etc directory but i cant move it.. not in konqueror OR using the terminal.. with root privileges. can someone tell me the proper command to move a file thats in /home/minimumturbulence/Desktop/yum.conf to the /etc directory. the Terminal gives me the message "missing file argument" and konqueror says that access is denied to the /etc folder. is there some way to enable root privileges in konq. instead of doing it
