nfsv4 in RHEL 5
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 14, 2008
I have some questions about nfsv4 in RHEL 5.
1) How do you know which version of nfs you are using in the server?
2) How to configure an nfs server for version 4? How to export a filesystem with version 4...
3) How to mount it from a client, having just enabled port 2049 in the server?
RHEL vs Ubuntu
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 20, 2007
I am trying to learn how to administer and
maintain my RHEL computer and it seems very
hard to me. It realy takes time and effort.
I would like to ask more experienced users
who are very familiar with both Red Hat and
Ubuntu. Is Ubuntu more user-friendly than RH?
Please, do not get me wrong. I would really like
to learn linux use all advantages that linux offer
but I also have limited time to devote to that.

I'm in the process of building a Linux server using spare desktop (HP dc 7700p PC with USB wireless adapter) and of course it will be used as the wireless security training exercise so I just wondering if Ubuntu or RHEL is suitable for me to learn ?
BackTrack Linux is too hard to use and doesn't automatically detect the USB wireless network card usually.

I am a networking student. Currently I am attending Cisco Network Academy Program at college.
I also want to get a RHCSA and later a RHCE.
Since Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 will probably be released this year should I do RHCSA right away or wait for RHEL 7 and the RHEL 7 version of RHCSA ?

Routing via aliased interfaces in RHEL
location: linux.com - date: April 7, 2011
I am having following problem.
RHEL 5.5 won't accept specifying an aliased interface (e.g. eth1:0) when I add a new host route to the routing table of a machine with multiple Ethernet interfaces. I have read that this works with Ubuntu, but RHEL gives problems. It only understands the interface card (e.g. either eth0 or eth1, but does not understand the aliased virtual interfaces within say eth0 or eth1)
Any input would be appreciated
