Hi guys just want to ask if you have an installed offline map on your Ubuntu desktop?
Same as on google map.
I am working on a call center company and I am planning to install offline map on our call center agents.
I want offline map because agents IP address has a limited access only, office related sites are allowed to open on their browser.
As of the moment I allow google maps and some other sites on their browser for some agents.
But we are planning to find an offline map for them so that they cannot search any non related work site.

Google Map Offline

I want to create an android app which will show the city bus routes(i.e bus stops, stations, etc) on Google Map. Will it be possible to download the Google Map for a particular area(city in this case) and provide it with app by default, So that people can use it in offline mode?
Or may be as an alternative, can a option can be provided later to user after installing app, to download map for offline use?
[SOLVED] wine offline installation ubuntu 9.04
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 10, 2009
I'm brand-new to Linux and Ubuntu, and I need to install Wine.
I'm installing it on an offline computer, (I'm using Windows on the online pc), and I'm in need of the extra libraries required for proper Wine installation.
The easiest way I've seen is to download/install the libraries via internet through the terminal.
I can't though, because the computer's offline.
Can anyone provide the libraries or show me where I can download them?

Aptcacher offline mode problem
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 15, 2009
Alright, so I've set apt-cacher up and everything seems to work more or less - the client can access it. However, when I try to use it in offline mode, with neither client or apt-cacher server connected to the internet, the client (apt-get update) fails to update, spewing 503 (service unavailable) and apt-cacher offline errors.
But that's exactly what I want the client to do - update itself via the apt-cacher's repository that's already on the HD, rather than trying to access the internet repositories.
I've already enabled apt-cacher's offline mode in the conf.
P.S. In case it makes a difference, I'm using Mint Linux.

Evolution email is stuck in offline mode (Ubuntu 10.10)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 23, 2011
I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 (previously I had 10.04). I could not do an upgrade, because the package manager had a problem with unresolved dependencies resulting from the installation of a Nokia package for my CS-15 usb modem.
Since it was a new install, I did fresh backups of everything I needed, including evolution. After the install I tried restoring my email from the backup. Then I noticed that the send/receive button was disabled and so was the option to work online in the file menu.
The version of evolution is 2.30.3.
I thought this thread:
had an answer to my problem but mine appears to be something different.
I tried deleting the .evolution folder in my home directory (as suggested in that other thread) and then re-installed evolution. That didn't work, however. I still have the same problem.
Oddly enough all my account details are still there! I tried checking the supported authentication in the account p
