Getting QQ IM working in Ubuntu Pidgin
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 20, 2011
To use QQ in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty onwards you need to install Pidgin IM. It is a multiple protocol IM client. See here http://pidgin.im/. It is easy to find in the Software Centre in Ubuntu 11.04 onwards. Currently in Pidgin however the QQ protocol is either out of date or has problems with the QQ security verifications. By adding the PPA on this page and following the instruction to install libqq-pidgin - http://code.google.com/p/libqq-pidgin/wiki/UbuntuUsers from the Google Code project you can quickly and easily install their new libqq-pidgin package and this will allow you to use QQ in Ubuntu without any problems. Install it and check it out.
To do all this all you need to do is add the PPA and install as follows in a terminal...
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lainme/libqq
sudo apt-get install libqq-pidgin

When I try to login to QQ using Ubuntu 7.10 and Pidgin 2.2.1 I always get a "wrong password" error.
Login and password are correct and work with Pidgin from Xp.

Pidgin chat history
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 9, 2011
i've recently installed pidgin via the Ubuntu Software Center. Unfortunnately it is lacking a "chat history" just like for example "Trillian" on Windows. Is there any IM-prog on Ubuntu which saves all conversations with any contact into files? (Just like Trillian on windows)

I thought I posted about this issue awhile back, but apparently I can't find it.
I have 16GB of memory total, and according to "free -m" command, I only have 2GB available. I'm not sure what the deal is. Can someone elaborate on this for me? I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.
Here's what I see:

you are welcome to test this SpatialBundle.
No installation required nor root password.
Just download, add executable permission and double click
Here the main link where you can find the SpatialBundle and the checksums files (which is best for you: md5 -> sha512)
feedbacks are very welcome to improve the SpatialBundle interaction experience.
Thank you in advance,
if it's ok for you I would like to post here new portable app releases (ia32, amd64 and powerpc) because they are build against Ubuntu releases...
