Post request with Wget?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: July 17, 2013
I want to use wget to upload a picture to a distant server, using an authentication token : 'AUTH_1624582364932749DFHDD' to the 'test' folder.
this command doesn't work (Authorization failed) and I want to make sure that it's not about syntax :
wget --post-file=nature.jpg http://ipadress:8080/v1/AUTH_test/test/ --post-data="AUTH_1624582364932749DFHDD"
Any suggestions ?
WGET webpage using POST method with multiple forms
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 27, 2014
I am having the same issue as the OP in this post:
I have a page with a form that once filled out and submitted takes me to an "I agree" form. Both forms are on the same page but I can only get wget to post to the first page. I have been looking for an answer for days but haven't been able to figure it out and I don't know what the OP in the linked post is referring to in his solution.
How do I request a file but not save it with Wget? [closed]
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
I'm using Wget to make http requests to a fresh web server. I am doing this to warm the MySQL cache. I do not want to save the files after they are served.
wget -nv -do-not-save-file $url
Can I do something like -do-not-save-file with wget?
Renaming downloaded files with wget?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 18, 2009
There are a bunch of files online "http://fake.url/334.pdf", "http://fake.url/5536.pdf" and "http://fake.url/2.pdf", say. I want to save them to my machine as "/foo/natasha.pdf", "/foo/wombat.pdf" and "/foo/tau.pdf" (where the directory "foo" does not yet exist).
Priority is the renaming, directory placement is simple enough after the fact.
Turning to wget's man, I find:
The documents will not be written to the appropriate files, but all will be concatenated together and written to file. ...
I do not want to concatenate several files, but to simply rename them as I go, keeping them in separate files.
Is this sort of "Save As..." unsupported by wget, in which case I should use some sort of script that combines wget with other tools?
Or can I put a new -O file after every file to get these results I want?
Is there anoth

Updating Centos Kernel with wget command
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 9, 2013
Currently taking Linux II and learning about updating kernel. I am using CentOs for my distro. My kernel version is 2.6 and in my book there is an example to upgrade/update kernel to 3.2. Here is the command:
When I type command it says that it has connected to linux.org but then it comes back with error 404: Not Found. I have this issue alot with this book, not being able to connect with what they are saying. Does anyone see something wrong with this path that I can change to get the upgrade/update? Also, I am doing this as root.
After I submitted this, the path that turned to blue has changed from what I actually typed. It was typed as "/linux/kernel/v3.x/linux- 3.2.tar.bz2"
