Privoxy + Tor 503 Error in .onion and localhost
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 1, 2011
I've installed and configured TOR and Privoxy in my computer. It works really well, but it has a problem:
I've been trying to access .onion directions and localhost (localhost, 127.0.0.1, 192.168.1.1) and it throws a 503 error:
Error 503 with privoxy, TOR, can't connect to hidden sites
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 18, 2014
I'm not very advanced in Linux but I managed to set up Polipo HTTP proxy and also privoxy.
I followed the instructions from a ubuntu official site.
I confirmed that I'm on TOR using the https://check.torproject.org/ site.
also, when I get the error while trying to load an "onion" hidden site it
says "This is Privoxy 3.0.19 on localhost (127.0.0.1), port 8118, enabled"
And I also configured firefox proxy accordingly.
and also when I restarted privoxy it confirmed that it was working.
Now I tried lots of different hidden onion links and they all give me
the same error...
Your request for http://am4wuhz3zifexz5u.onion/ could not be fulfilled, because the connection to am4wuhz3zifexz5u.onion (10.219.210.167) could not be established.
This is often a temporary failure, so you might just try again.
What can I do?

503 error for ubuntu archive
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 7, 2009
I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a laptop without cd, so I'm using UNetbootin to install from ISO. The problem is I cannot resolve any ubuntu archive, be it www.ubuntu.com, it.archive.ubuntu.com or whatever. So the installation hangs at "donwloading release file..." (I'm using the alternate ISO).
Now the strange thing is the following: on the laptop I cannot go to www.ubuntu.com even on Windows, since I get a 503 error. On another pc I can browse that site and the others fine.
It is not a DNS error, since I get an error page from Ubuntu, nor is the site in the hosts file. By the way www.ubuntu.com corresponds for me to 18.104.22.168, and this IP works on the other PC.
Every other site works fine... what can I do?
By the way there definitely SHOULD be a way to install Ubuntu WITHOUT a network connection!!!!!!!

503 error when ProxyPass directories to lighttpd in httpd.conf
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 7, 2011
I have a website running apache2 and i wanted to stream some flv files but apahce is way too slow so i wanted to use lighttpd to handle media. i followed this tutorial to set it up: http://redmine.lighttpd.net/wiki/lig...LighttpdAndPHP
i installed php5-cgi though cuz i am using ubuntu 10.10 and i couldnt find php4-cgi
i also used the configuring php in lighttpd tutorial that is on the lighttpd website
i didnt install it from source though cuz i was having issues figuring it out. i got the proxy modules installed and everything and the config tests work but when i put ProxyPass /directory http://0.0.0.0:81 in the httpd.conf for apache intending to send files in that directory to lighttpd it gives me a 503 error if try to go to a page that uses a file in that directory
here is my conf files:
# Debian lighttpd configuration file

How can i replace 503 error page in Apache?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 18, 2010
I run Linux RedHat and want to find out how can I replace the standard Apache 503 error page with my own? This is my configuration in the httpd.conf file for error pages. Can I just edit the HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE.html.var in /var/www/error directory and replace the content with my own , or how can I accomplish my goal?
Alias /error/ "/var/www/error/"
AddOutputFilter Includes html
AddHandler type-map var
Allow from all
LanguagePriority en es de fr
ForceLanguagePriority Prefer Fallback

Nginx upload module gives 503 error on example configuration
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 6, 2010
I have to learn to use the Nginx upload module, but I cannot install it .
I've followed the install procedure (quite annoying, to have to recompile Nginx from sources given that I used the version from the repos.. ), I configured it as suggested on the official website (the link I've mentioned above). If I try the example script:
I get 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error (and the browser is stuck on http://127.0.0.1/upload address).
My nginx.conf looks like this (including the upload module settings):
If I try to point the form's action to the example script (i.e. to upload_example.php instead of /upload), it creates an empty table with headers, it means that either array_key_exists($key."_name", $_POST) or array_key_exists($key."_path",$_POST) returns false - i.e. $_POST doesn't contain the expected values that the upload module should pro
