QT Creator Ubuntu Apps
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 8, 2013
I have followed the example over at http://developer.ubuntu.com/resource...ter-phone-app/ to create this currency convertor.
One thing that is bugging me, I can preview it just fine from QT. However how do I launch it without QT as a standalone application.
I'm new to all this Ubuntu programming, so sorry for the silly questions.
Why is the Qt Creator Ubuntu Publish Screen Empty?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: December 11, 2014
I'm trying to publish an app to the Ubuntu Store, however something is wrong with Qt Creator (or something else).
I used to be able to see this:
But now all I see is this:
As you can see (or read, if you're using a Reader with no images), the second image here isn't displaying things like the General tab which allows me to enter details such as Maintainer, Name, Description, Security Policy Groups - it doesn't have a Manifest tab AppArmor tab or Excludes tab either. The Create Package button is gone.
All I am left with is a blank screen with only 1 enabled button which reads 'Validate existing Click package', but when I click that (since there's nothing else I can do, it seems...), it takes me to my Projects directory where all my apps are listed. I select the app in question, and I can't click the open button on the dialog because there is no *.click file anywhere to be seen.
Have I done something wrong? Do you know what's going on here?
Also, I read that in order to publish
Setting up OpenCV in Qt Creator Ubuntu 12.04
location: linuxexchange.com - date: July 30, 2013
I'm trying to set up OpenCV in Qt Creator and I have some problems. I added the OpenCV path in the Qt Creator .pro file
INCLUDEPATH += /usr/local/include/opencv
LIBS += -L/usr/local/lib \
And I want to read and show image in this code
cv::Mat matInput = cv::imread("LP.jpg");
std::cout<<"Can't load image "<<std::endl;
When I run my project it shows the following message:
The program has unexpectedly finished.
/home/vasan/Qt/build-OpenCVWithQt-Desktop-Debug/OpenCVWithQt exited with code 0
Qt Creator on Ubuntu: Running a cmake executable
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
In Qt Creator on Ubuntu, I want to create a cmake C++ project (i.e. without using qmake). So, I create a new "Non-Qt Project->Plain C++ Project (Ubuntu CMake Build)". Then, I edit the main file and CMakeLists.txt as necessary. I click on the "build" icon, which builds the program fine and creates an executable. However, when I then click on the "run" icon, the "Application Output" window gives me the error: "No executable specified."
So how do I tell Qt Creator where to find the executable?

Ubuntu 11.10: Qt Creator can't locate QApplication header and include it
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 22, 2011
I am trying to start developing QT applications on Ubuntu 11.10, and I downloaded and installed Qt Creator (v 2.2.1, based on Qt 4.7.3) from the Software Center.
The following add-ons were also installed: gdb, qt4-demos, qt4-dev-tools, qt4-doc, qt4-qmlviewer and qtcreator-doc.
I try creating a new project in Qt Creator like this:
Create project...->Other Project->Qt Console Application
In the main.cpp that is created, however, if I try to include simple headers like:
then the Qt Creator complains about:
QApplication: No such file or directory
I can include headers like this one though:
Under Tools->Options->Qt4, I can see that the path to qmake-qt4 is auto-detected and set as:
What am I missing in order to get Qt Creator to find QApplication header?
Thanks in advance.

Qt Creator hangs in Ubuntu Virtualbox
location: linuxexchange.com - date: February 4, 2015
I have a very weird problem. Ive got a an Ubuntu 14.04 running on VirtualBox 4.3.20 r96997. I installed QT Creator a while back and was working with it fine until today. Now when I try to start it, the screen is completely unresponsive, and it endes up freezing (just the QT Creator screen, ubuntu keeps working fine)
I have read in a couple of places that this could be because the welcome mode doesnt play nice with virtualbox 3d hardware acceleration:
Why does Qt Creator 3.0.0 Welcome Mode not work in VM?
But im starting ubuntu with the 3d hardware acceleration disabled, and Ive also tried starting it direcly from the terminal by going to the install folder and doing:
./qtcreator -noload Welcome -noload QmlDesigner -noload QmlProfiler
But it also freezes. And the weird thing is that it worked yesterday, and I havent installed any updates or changed the system, it just appears to have stopped working.
Stepping into Qt sources in Qt Creator (in Ubuntu Linux)
location: linuxexchange.com - date: December 17, 2014
I'm using Qt Creator in Ubuntu. It's installed from the repositories but as it is now, there is no way to step into the Qt sources when debugging.
How can I enable that?
How to run Qt Creator from console in Ubuntu?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: April 21, 2015
I don't know how it's called in console.
Tried "qt", "qt-creator", "qtcreator". It not works.
Tried to find where Qt Creator is installed. I didn't find it.
Tried open qt from desktop. "./Qt\ Creator\ (Community)"
Command -ls showing the name as DigiaQt-qtcreator-community.desktop. "./DigiaQt-qtcreator-community.desktop". It doesn't work too.
I need it to run Qt Creator as root.
