Live365 Internet Radio and Fedora 15
location: linux.com - date: July 9, 2011
I can't work without my Radio Vietnam on Live365.... so as I am setting up my new Fedora 15, and just finished "mastering the Beast" know as USB Wireless Adaptors, I am ready to set up my radio, but... It doesn't work!!!!
I am trying to migrate my internet usage to the Linux machine and put my Winblows 7 offline, but... well not until this radio is fixed.
So here is a run down, Fedora has offered me some options, Rhythembox, Radio Tray, and Streamtuner2.
Streamtuner2 looked to have the most promise, but there are tons of stations that appear on the multipal internet radio station provider tabs (i.e. SHOUTcast, Xiph.org, Google), but at the bottom of the page it says, "Category parsed empty" ... What, there is a whole list of stations. Then if you double click on one, it pops up and says, i.e. "No decoder found for http://85.239.108.31:8000/rtl-live128".
And on top of that, Streamtuner2 can't even contact by beloved Live365!

BBC iPlayer radio in Ubuntu Page 4

Thanks Cascade 9. I posted a 'Quick Reply' about 15 mins ago, but it must have got lost. I said... thanks for info about Chromium, and remarked that, looking back, we were attempting to install libflashplayer.so into mozilla/plugins (I couldn't find a plugins folder in mozilla, anyway) -- isn't that too localised if we expect Chromium (and maybe Opera) to use it??
Repo... what browser did you use to receive BBC, please?

Software FM Radio reciever that works?

For my own personal time-shift use, I record a talk show from a local FM Radio station.
My current solution is to take a small table top radio with 2.5mm earpice/headphone jack, connect a cable from that to the mic jack on a Ensonic PCI Sound card in a very old Dell server -- a PE 350, Pizza box, 1GHZ processor and 1 GB of memory.
I use arecord and lame to record from the default sound device and then convert the raw recording to mp3 format.
This has been working for years, but as the server and the sound card are getting long in the tooth, I have tried several times converting to a newer server with a PCIe type sound card. I have never been able to get this to work since something breaks with the command line stuff. I can never get the input set properly in the sound cards from CLI utilities.
On top of this is the issue of tuning -- any drift in the station signal doesn't get corrected until I hear the recording later and realize I have one or more bad recordings because

LQ Radio.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 19, 2010
Hi:
How can I use LQ Radio? Each time I wanted to enter here something like "LQ Radio will be back soon" appeared. Just a moment ago I clicked LQ Radio and a message says "Enter username and password" for LQ Radio will be back soon". Then
(a) I must submit a registration request. But how do I do it?
(b) Why should I want to subscribe to something that is ever "coming back soon".
Thanks in advance.
