Installing from desktop on Red Hat Linux
location: linux.com - date: June 18, 2009
Hello there guys. This rookie seems to be getting the hang of Linux. Now, just one more help from the last one. I have some applications(SugarCE-5.2.0f.zip, jbpm-4.0.CR1.zip, bugzilla-3.2.3.tar.gz) on my desktop, just to name a few...I know how to install but have not installed applications that are already on my desktop before.
Anyone wana give me a dummy assistance with this one.
Thank you in advance and for the assistance before this one.
Early caldari and red hat linux
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 4, 2009
I was going through some of my stored cd's and found some copies of the early caldera ? i think it is spelled and the early red hat linux.
I was thinking about trying to get one going on one of my machines but i remember they were not that display friendly back then !!
Plus i don't think they would find all the new bits and pieces we have today compared to then.
Anyone else remember them ?

The RHCSA/RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide 6th Edition is now available!
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 23, 2011
With the approval of moderator acid_kewpie (Chris), I'm pimping the 6th edition of my Red Hat study guide. It covers all objectives for both the Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator and Red Hat Certified Engineer exams.
It's now available at least from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The link to the Amazon listing is here: http://www.amazon.com/RHCSA-Linux-Ce...dp/0071765654/ . In the "From the Author" section, I've provided a detailed description of what's in the book.
The official detailed description is available from McGraw-Hill, at http://www.mhprofessional.com/produc...sbn=0071765654 . It's more up to date than the Amazon listing (yes, the 6th edition is over 1000 pages.)
I'll try to answer any questions that you may have on this book. I'll do my best to keep up to date with this board for at least a couple of months, and address any problems that you might find.
While I hope I didn't make any mistakes, I'm human. If you find an error, post it here. If

Commands not working in Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 18, 2009
Weird things happening,
I wanted to see the drives and used the fdisk -l command (in "su" mode). But it says "Bad Command". Also I remember unix had a command uname -X which also isn't working.
Also Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5 doesn't go into "Suspend" mode?
Whats going on??? Can anyone tell me?
