Windows Partition Split For Room To Install Red Hat Linux 9.0
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 31, 2003
I have had windows for a while but I am to the point I want to learn Linux (for many other reasons too) and I am sick and tired of Microsoft and there crappy stuff....
Well a while back my computer crashed and I lost everything... Well Microsoft only sent me "Restore Disks" (my computer had pre-install with Windows XP so I had no install disks)...
Well I just re-installed windows using those disks (thats all I have)... But, that install will only install if it can format and re-partition my harddrive... It makes 2 partitions one a restore partition and the other (the REST of my hard drive) is the Windows partition...
I cant make room for linux... I tried using the free program "Partition Resizer" but it tells me that the two partitions overlap so it dose not read either of them...
I have to leave windows on my computer for other members of my family....
How can I fix this?
Problems with Red Hat Linux 9.0 after switching motherboard
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 8, 2005
A few days ago the motherboard of my Linux server got damaged after a power surge. The motherboard that did get damaged was a EagleMax AMD K2. I decided to try to replace this motherboard with the a Asus K2 motherboard. After installing everything I started the server and everything seemed to go well, but after the message: Finding Module dependencies [OK] it didn't do anything.
My question is if some of you have tried this too and/or got a solution to this problem? Or is the only option to reinstall Red Hat 9.0?
Thanks in advance.
Red Hat Linux Desktop ;)

I've stumbled upon this an hour ago. what do you think? I personally would like to see a desktop version of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with all it's stability and hardware certification, but not with all that pack-pricing that makes it expensive for the average home user. Would you pay for it, even there are clones like CentOS and others?
Red Hat Linux 7
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 25, 2011
Whilst looking through my old books I came across a book called "Linux for Dummies" and with the book had 3 CD's of Red Hat Linux 7.
Whilst looking through the book and the pictures I was getting sentimental at the thought of having this installed years ago. I believe it came with KDE 2 and Gnome 1. Apart of me wants to install it my current computer just to have a play with it.
I also bought the same book with Red Hat Linux 8 not long after but I leant that to a mate to try and convert him to Linux but he never bothered to install it and give me the book back.
Oh what memories.
