Arch Linux forum registration
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 12, 2012
I am trying to register with this forum. At the bottom of the form, there is a question:
What is the output of "date -u +%W$(uname)|sha256sum|sed 's/\W//g'"?
I have no idea what the answer is. Can someone help me with this? I am taking the plunge and am going to learn how to install Arch Linux. I have the beginner's guide so I will be following it religiously on my quest, but first I need to become a member of the Arch Linux forum.
DDNSDHCP Hostname Registration
- date: February 19, 2010
I have a slight problem with my Karmic x64 installation - it doesn't register itself with a DNS lookup on my CentOS DHCP server. My Windows 7 installation on the same PC works fine (I have a dual-boot setup).
I can ping galileo.dominion.local (my desktop PC) from any machine on my network while booted into Windows, but not when booted into Linux.
Also, for some reason my Linux install gets assigned a different IP (.250) than my Windows install (.249).
I'd assume this is at least part of the problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it.
Here is some debug output - if more is needed, let me know
-------------- [From Desktop PC] ----------------
Desktop]$ ifconfig eth0

Postfix to create mailbox upon user registration
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 15, 2009
I have a postfix server and my company has a few community websites. I am now trying to find a solution for each user who has registered on community website and once completed postfix will create an account automatically and let the user know his/her account. I believe this could be done by integrating with PHP but I do not know where to refer to.
Can anyone here give some comments or website to refer?
