location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 3, 2011
I've somehow corrupted/bust a 32gb micro sd card I got off ebay, and consequently its now only showing up as 8mb!
I've tried formatting again using Disk Utility and Gparted, but to no avail.
Anyone had a similar problem, or have any advice?

Hi all! I have this SD Card that will not show up in Ubuntu. I think it is not working right. I did put a card just like that in the same card reader and it worked great. So I know that the card reader is working just fine. Any idea if there is a SD Card repair program for Ubuntu. THANKS

I am trying to install Linux with an SD card via an internal SD card reader on my MacBook Pro. When booting and pressing 'C', the system hangs forever. When booting and pressing 'Option', the same thing happens. Doesn't seem to be working.
Recover movies from Canon sd card after windows scan & repair [on hold]
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 9, 2015
Yesterday I shot video from a Canon 700D DSLR onto a 32GB Sandisk extreme SD card. I popped the card into my Windows 8.1 PC via a USB Sd Card reader. The reader was faulty and intermittant hence my data became corrupted. Windows asked me if I wanted to scan and repair. I clicked "Yes". All my movie files have disappeared.
The card is almost new and has previously only had about 9 gigs of movies written to it. These movies were transfered from the SD Card to my PC freeing space. So yesterday when I began filming the card was empty. Yesterdays filming resulted about 9 gigs of data in files numbered MVI_0046 - MVI_0098 (approximately). I'm guessing this means the original movies were likely to have been numbered MVI_0001 to MVI_0045.
I have tried number of different recovery softwares including Recuva, Easus Data Recovery Wizard, Jihosoft Photo, Photrec, Icarefree, 4card and phot recovery. Although I have been able to recover a number of .mov files, none are able to play. Jihosoft a few

Joli OS in SD card slot
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 18, 2011
I just recently tested out Joli OS and am very happy with it. I am already dual booting Windows 7 Starter (netbook was a graduation gift) and lubuntu on my eeepc 1005pe.
My netbook has a 5200 rpm HDD and an SD card slot. I have a micro SD card adapter and a 4GB micro SD card. 4GB seems like enough space for just the OS to me. So my question is which would run Joli OS faster, the HDD or SD card?

[SOLVED] Boot a Samsung NC10 Plus from the SD card?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 1, 2012
Hello there and happy new year,
I bought a samsung nc10 plus.
It boots fine from the USB (TinyCoreLinux).
And: there is a SD card port in the front side of this netbook.
Is there a possibility to boot it from the SD card port?
Know somebody a bootloader recognizing SD ports for booting? (I have several distro on my 8GB SD card with extlinux).
On my old desktop, I have the "plop" bootloader for booting it from the USB port, despite this port is not recognized as bootable by the BIOS; perhaps something exist for SD ports anywhere in this world?.
