setting up TFTP on fedora
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 9, 2004
Hello! I need to set up tftp for backing up cisco configs and IOS's... I found on my fedora 2 (and 3) disk 4 an rpm called tftp.0.33.3.rpm (or something like that) and in stalled it with RPM -IVVH but this seems to only install a tftp client in /usr/bin.
Not the server...
I was expecting to find at least 2 things:
I didnt find either one on the fedora 2 or the fedora 3 machine using disk 4 for each system.
I did find a tftp server out there that I compiled and got to work but when I run it, I cant get it to dissconnect from the shell.
I added a line to start it in /etc/rc.d/rc.local
but when the system boots it just hangs there running and wont let the system boot up fully...
I found that here: http://iridia.ulb.ac.be/~fvandenb/tools/tools.html
Can someone help me set up a tftp server? ...or point me to one?
setting up tftp server
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 16, 2011
Hi, I am fairly new to ubuntu server, I want to setup a tftp server to mount a new kernel in a DaVinci platform.
I was following the guide in this page https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/linux_tftp, but accidentally I remove the xinetd.conf file. So I think that maybe removing and reinstalling xinetd the problem will be solved, but instead of that I can't completely remove xinetd and the follow message is print in the terminal
Removing xinetd ...
invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/xinetd not found.
dpkg: error processing xinetd (--remove):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 100
invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/xinetd not found.
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100
Errors were encountered while processing:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
with that problem I can't start the service or stop it, I am blocked in the configuration o

Setting up XBOX 360 Controller on Linux (Fedora 5 and openSuSE 10.2)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 9, 2007
I have a couple of Xbox 360 controllers that I'd like to set up to play Emus. The main box I want to use them on is running Fedora 5 (MythDora) although I'd also like to be able to use them on my main box (an openSuSE 10.2). I'm new to Linux so keep that in mind when responding The only thing I know so far is that dmesg gives me the following:
usbcore: Registering new driver xpad
drivers/usb/input/xpad.c: X-Box pad driver v0.0.5
But there is no /dev/input/js0 (although there's now an event3) and when trying to set up a Joystick in Gnome/KDE control center it tells me I have no joysticks. Also when trying to run ZSNES or FCEUltra it also tells me I have no joypads.
Where to next?

Help setting up Fedora in VBox
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 11, 2011
Hi, I'm new to virtualization and am attempting to set up a Fedora vm in virtualbox for practice. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 which is dual-booted with windows 7 on my laptop.
So, I downloaded the .iso and have it running in vbox, but i'm not sure whether it is installed on the disk or is just booting from the image.
I opened the icon on its desktop to "install to hard disk." Now, I'm not that great with partitioning anyways, so i'm not exactly sure what I'm doing. For now, I'm selecting the option to just create a new partition and leave everything else as is. But, when I review the changes, it tells me that it's going to "format the pre-existing device at /dev/sda - partition table (MSDOS)."
I assumed that it would just install the Fedora OS inside the vm hard disk folder that vbox created for me. Am I wrong in that assumption? Should I just never install Fedora and always boot it from the iso? Any other advice you'd like to share?
[SOLVED] Setting up Fedora DS(389 DS Server) on centOS 5.4?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 9, 2010
I have been confused with the overall new 389 DS Server Setup.
All I did upto now is:
yum install 389-ds
and it did all the installation correctly.
Then, I ran:
It too went fine.
All I need is Setup 389 Server with SSL.I did went through http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Howto:SSL but no Idea how to proceed.
I am confused with the following points:
1. Do I also need to run setup-ds-admin.pl and setup-ds-dsgw too?
I tried running setup-ds-admin.pl and it stucked at :
The server 'ldap://389-ds.sap.com:45474/o=NetscapeRoot' is not reachable. Error: unknown error.
2. When Should I run the setupssl2.sh script? After running the above setup-* scripts?
What changes I need to make on the script?

LXer: "Setting up Two PhysicalNode OpenStack RDO Havana + Neutron GRE" on Fedora 20 boxes
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 24, 2014
Published at LXer:
Cloud instances running on Compute perform commands like nslookup, traceroute. Yum install & yum -y update work on Fedora 19 instance, however, in meantime time network on VF19 is stable, but relatively slow.CentOS 6.5 with "RDO Havana+Glusterfs+Neutron VLAN" works on same box (dual booting with F20) much faster. That is a first impression
