SkypetoSkype gives "Call Failed" error, but SkypetoTelephone is okay
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 17, 2011
It's been a couple of weeks since I've used Skype, but 188.8.131.52 was working great, until tonight. Now, when I log into Skype, all of my Skype contacts have gray icons, and calls to all Skype contacts result in an immediate "Call Failed" error, including Skype test calls. However, Skype calls to telephone numbers are working as usual.
Doesn't seem to be a Skype server problem: When I boot into XP and log into Skype, everything works as expected--my Skype contacts have green icons and calls work just fine.
Doesn't seem to be a hardware problem: Under Ubuntu, as I said, Skype-to-Telephone works normally--also, my USB headset and mic work with other apps such as VLC and Sound Recorder.
So looks like it's a problem with the Skype 2.1 beta? Googling around doesn't turn up anything quite like this. Anyone have any idea what's causing this?
I recieve a failed dependencies error, but I have all required dependencies

I am trying to install the new certificate for RedHat Linux 9.0, so that I can use their up2date program to recieve new updates.

error: Failed dependencies:

It seems that is telling me it needs (installed) up2date-gnome for it to install up2date-gnome and/or up2date-184.108.40.206-1. What is going on here? I have up2date-gnome installed but it won't let me get further it still thinks I need it installed. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

NFS mounting fails (mount(2): Input/output error, mount system call failed)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 6, 2010
I have been using Ubuntu for several years now. I have always had the following line in /etc/fstab:
192.168.0.30:/shares/SimplePool/Storage /home/brian/Storage nfs rw,auto,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,intr,soft,retry=5 0 0
That, along with having
installed, has always worked great for accessing my remote NFS server. Unfortunately Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) isn't cooperating.
If I try to manually mount /home/brian/Storage it will hang. I ran the following equivalent command to debug:
sudo mount -v -t nfs -o rw,auto,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,intr,soft,retry=5 192.168.0.30:/shares/SimplePool/Storage /home/brian/Storage
And the result was:
mount.nfs: timeout set for Thu May 6 10:01:01 2010
mount.nfs: text-based options: 'rsize=8192,wsize=8192,intr,soft,retry=5,addr=192.168.0.30'
mount.nfs: mount(2): Input/output error
mount.nfs: mount system call failed

hd0 out of disk error but can proceed
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 18, 2012
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on a removable USB hard drive, while the internal hdd of the computer has win7 on it. I also installed the Grub on the removable, so if I want to use linux I select the usb drive from the bios boot menu.
When the Grub menu comes up and I press enter on the default entry to load ubuntu, the error message "hd0 out of disk press enter to continue" comes up. If I press enter the system proceeds loading without a problem.
On the removable drive the primary partition is the swap partition and the logical is the ext4 ubuntu partition.
Do you know how to get rid of this error message?
