how to install skype 4.2 under ubu 64 bit
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 12, 2013
my main problem installing skype 4.2 on maverick 64 bit (and other versions as well) was the following message:
./skype: error while loading shared libraries: libQtWebKit.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
and that message was displayed while I was trying to launch skype via the command:
I have to add also, that, trying to download any 32-bit version as a deb file for my box did not work either.
So, in order to install the newest version this is what I did:
1) Download the dynamic version of skype from skype website.
2) Untar it at any place you like, yet keep in mind the path.
For this installation purposes the path will be: /home/your_user_name_here/Desktop/skype-188.8.131.52
3) Download the libqtwebkit4_2.2.1-1ubuntu4_i386.deb file from here:
-have in mind that we are downloading the 32 bit version even if our box is 64 bit

[SOLVED] How To Install TF2 with Wine?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 4, 2011
So after many days of boredom, I decided to try out some free games and on the Platinum list for Wine was Team Fortress 2.
Unfortunately Wine says to download from Steam, but that means clicking the "Store" tab, which crashes Steam, and Wine along with it.
Then there's the other method of putting the data files (which I'm still unsure how to get) into the folder "steamapps" (which I'm even more unsure of).
Does anybody else have experience with this that may be able to help?
[SOLVED] How do I install 64bit Virtualbox Guest Additions or change resolution in XFCE4?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 1, 2011
When I try to change the resolution, it only shows 800X600 and 640X480 or something similar, nothing regarding a custom resolution. When I use the "Install Guest Additions" it won't mount because of some error, and so I can't open it, and even if I could mount and open it *I've tried it in other distros that don't automatically install it for you* I have no idea what to use. I've tried all of the .sh, even the autorun.sh and giving it executable permissions, and it STILL doesn't work. Perhaps I'm missing something, or there's a documentation out there that I can't find, but I can never get them to work. How can I fix this problem? I know in sbopkg, there's 32-bit Virtualbox Guest Additions but that doesn't work. The reason why I installed the 64-bit one is because I don't have 6 CDs to spare and I'm almost out of bandwidth and it has to last me a week. *I think around 200GBs out of 250GBs taken up so far, or more*
How do I install Skype on Mepis?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 2, 2006
I installed Mepis last night, and I'm very impressed.
It seems quite user friendly, I mean, I haven't screwed up my laptop yet...
I'd like to be able to install Skype, and a couple of programs more, so I can say F*** **f to B. Gates once and for all. I downloaded the installer (it took a while) and saved it on the desktop. I was logged in as root. I pressed the right button on the mouse, and I was given many options, among whom there was 'install'. I clicked it and a window opened for less than half a second. I did it again. And again. And again. Nothing.
I have the same problem with Sea Monkey, after the download I'm not able to use it.
Could anyone help me kicking Wxp out of my Pc, please?
