[SOLVED] Hardware ARM cpu for NAS?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 2, 2012
Hi, I'm currently (for a while now) looking to install a media server with some disks on a low-power cpu, preferably ARM.
Barebones just use way to much power (500W etc)
There are a lot of things around but none seem to have what I want. (low power, some disks (softraid) ssd hdmi arm soft: nfs, samba, the usuals)
Anybody has a good suggestion for such a system?
I'm looking to freebsd or debian-family linux as OS. (maybe with xbmc)
any suggestions welcome.
thanks in advance.
[SOLVED] scratchbox + arm + qemu = "cannot execute c compiled programs"
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 14, 2011
Hi i set up a scratchbox with a arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc toolchain and qemu emulator.
When i want to run inside scratchbox [sbox-arm:/]> a ./configure script (from a mono tarball) i am getting the error:
checking whether the c compiler works... ...
configure error: cannot run c compiled programs.
if you meant to cross compile, use --host.
When i compile a simple hello.c it works but when i execute hello.o i am getting an error:
lib/ld-linux.so.3 no such file.
by using a toolchain with uClibc the error is:
i can workaraound this error by using the -static flag, but that won´t work with the .configure problem.
has anyone a solution for this?

[SOLVED] Slack ARM on Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 27, 2011
Just bought one of these.. basically a SheevaPlug but with 2 SATA ports and minus the USB hub..
Going to be looking to install Slackware ARM on a USB stick, with 2 hard drives in RAID 10 f2.
The 'box' will hopefully perform the following duties:NAS
Wuala trading node
Torrent client with WebGUI (Deluge)
Internet connection sharing to desktop (will be connected to router via USB/Ethernet adapter, and to desktop via gigabit)
Scheduled (cron) backups of desktop via rsync
Web server for some experimental projects
Anyone been there before me? Any tips/caveats to share?
[SOLVED] Having trouble installing Flash player onto ChrUbuntu on the ARM based Chromebook
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 9, 2013
I am on a Samsung Series ARM based Chromebook. I installed an alpha of Ubuntu 12.04 that was redisigned for the Chromebook (The download and install is here http://chromeos-cr48.blogspot.co.uk/...pha-1-now.html).
I installed it fine, got most of what I needed working, all I couldn't get to work was the flash player. I was using Chromium and I couldn't figure out how to install the flash player into ChrUbuntu. I found various sources saying to copy the flash player from the ChromeOS and then paste it into the ChrUbuntu side.
Is there anyone who could give some instructions on this? I love Ubuntu now that I have seen how capable it is on this netbook and I would love to have flash on it so I could use it full time, could anyone help? Any is appreciated!
PS: I only posted in this board since I'm new to Linux and this forum, so if there is somewhere in the forum that would be better suited to this question I'd appreciate if someone told me, thanks again!
[SOLVED] running c code in ARM QEMU
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 13, 2012
I created and Compiled a C program to run in QEMU for ARM.
When I run the program using the command
#qemu-arm -L /home/arm-2010.09/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/libc ./test
it gives me the following error:
If 'qemu-arm' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
In PATH is have added the path to /el/el_test/arm-2010q1/bin but still I get the error.
What is the reason for this?
How to resolve this issue?
