[SOLVED] Problem with Firefox expanding font using Ctrl +
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 20, 2010
Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit with Firefox 3.6.6
I should probably post this to a Firefox forum, however, the folks here seem more responsive So here is the problem:
I have been using Ctrl +/- to expand/shrink the displayed font on web pages in Firefox since I figured out how to do it back in version 0.something. Today I happened to be accessing this page https://personal.vanguard.com/us/fun...T#hist=tab%3A2 and I noticed that when I expanded the font the text to the right side was pushed off screen - not unusual - but that I did NOT have a slider at the bottom of the browser window to allow me to move to the off screen text. I continued to press Ctrl+ until the font would no longer expand. At the very larges font the slider reappeared however, it will only move a little bit to the right.
I then accessed the page with Internet Explorer and Firefox 3.5.8 on an XP box - the slider appeared as expected and I can slide to the right to see all of the enlarged text.
I created a new use
[SOLVED] problem with ethernet loopback test using loopback plug/stub: receiving socket not se
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 18, 2010
we are writing socket application to send UDP packets out from eth1
and loop it back to
the same interface using loopback stub to verify the hardware without
devices/ports. The sending and receiving port are the same.
our target machine has eth0 configured as 15.6.xx.xx and eth1
configured as 188.8.131.52.
the listening socket is listing on all ip.
When we looked at the packet in the tx code of the driver, we have
observed that the packet passed down from the ip stack has the same
MAC address for both source and destination. Also when packet is
returning, its ip source and destination are the same as the
transmitting packet, which is to be expected.
The outgoing packet on eth1 has ip address of 184.108.40.206.
1. Is this type of loopback possible under linux?
2 If not, what if we were to use raw socket to bypass ip stack? can the destination then be 220.127.116.11, and the packet will be delivered to the driver as opposed to being loopbacked

location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 18, 2013
I have a mail server running on Redhat and an another machine with Windows 2008 Server.
Lately I tried backing up my mail server data on the Windows share by mounting the shared folder as cifs system.
I tried cp as well as rsync, all goes well but the symbolic links could not be copied and "symbolic links not supported" message is flashed. Finally, the transfer fails with so many errors.
Any suggestions about how to go for it?
[SOLVED] Problem with font Greek font in applications
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 22, 2010
currently I got a strange problem with some of my applications. In some programs (LibreOffice, Skype) a Greek font is displayed instead of the original one.
The problem with Skype was fixed by an "aptitute remove skype" and a local install using the packages of Skype for Debian.
But I have no idea how to fix this problem with LibreOffice.
I hope some solved a similar issue and can help me.
Currently I am using a Debian (Sidux aka aptosid) with Xfce.

[SOLVED] Problem with Broadcom Gigabit Integrated Ethernet Card in RHEL 5.4
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 1, 2010
I recently bought a machine from Dell. It came with Windows7. But I wanted to install RHEL5. So I reformatted to RHEL5.4. And now it doesn't detect the netowrk card. The network card seems to be Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Ethernet Card (as per the Dell support website and the drivers and utilities CD). Also, Dell support said they don't have any linux driver for this. I googled around but couldn't find a solution to install the driver for this card.
1. How do I know what is the exact card?
2. How to install driver for this card?
