Bluetooth not working ubuntu 12.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 16, 2012
i just installed ubuntu 12.04 and had a few issues, im working through them one by one!
Im trying to connect my bluetooth keyboard, not been a problem on windows, apple phone and android phone but i have no success with linux.
it is as if there is no bluetooth on the laptop, i think it may be to do with there being a physical bluetooth button on my acer aspire 5520 that does not light up when i press it.
let me know what info you need to know.
thanks in advance!
HP Envy m6 bluetooth not working Ubuntu 13.10
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 26, 2014
I have a HP ENVY m6 laptop, which came pre-installed with Windows 8. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 13.10 today in an attempt to use a software to emulate the PS3 controller (In order to play with mouse and KB on the PS3 of course ) since I was kinda tired of Windows 8.1 anyways...
But that software (GIMX) uses bluetooth, which my laptop has built-in.
Ubuntu is starting up with the flight mode (disconnecting wireless activity, like Wifi and bluetooth), except the wifi is working, even though the button is lit red (off).
It is one of those rigs that you have to press FN+F12 to toggle the flight mode, but for some reason it doesn't work...
I've searched for hours on the ubuntu forums after a solution to no avail... So here I am.
The bluetooth is a Railink RT3290.
I've tried the stuff that was recommended, from
sudo unblock all
to writing a bunch of code..
Sorry, but I am a Linux noob after years of not using it properly
I'd love to get the bluetooth working! I can only

Ubuntu 13.04 No Bluetooth Adapter Found
- date: May 10, 2013
Hi, I'm using a Dell Inspiron 14R(N4010) laptop.
I recently did a wipe of my entire system and installed Ubuntu 13.04.
I had tried the live cd before installing but forgot to check if bluetooth is working.
It was working fine when I tested it in another similar system.
There is no bluetooth indicator in the panel, and in the bluetooth settings, it says "No Bluetooth Adapters Found"
The output of rfkill list is as follows:
:~$ rfkill list

Hard blocked: no

BCM2033 USB bluetooth dongle not recognized (Ubuntu 12.04)
- date: August 14, 2012
I am trying to get my USB Bluetooth adapter working in Ubuntu 12.04 but so far without success. I have installed linux-firmware-nonfree (in order to get bcm2033-fw.bin) but it hasn't made any difference.
Below are the few outputs I think are relevant:
:~$ lsusb | grep Bluetooth
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a5c:2033 Broadcom Corp. BCM2033 Bluetooth
:~$ hciconfig -a
:~$ hcitool dev
I searched the google but the few relevant results I found were really old and were targeting older versions of Ubuntu.
I appreciate any kind of help on how I can proceed.
Thank you in advance.
Disabling bluetooth on bootup Ubuntu 13.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 31, 2013
I'm glad the forums are back up! On boot Bluetooth is automatically on, I'd like it to be automatically off on start up as I don't use it and I wish to save battery power. I've tried looking in the bios to have it disabled there, but I can't find the option.
I am running Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit on a Fujitsu Lifebook AH531.
Intel® WirelessN 7260 2X2 BGN with Bluetooth 4.0 drivers for ubuntu or Kubuntu
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 17, 2014
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E540 (20C6002SAU) notebook that has wifi and bluetooth problems after installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
The issue is after installing ubuntu or Kubuntu on this machine I could not connect to my wifi network. It appears ubuntu could not see my Intel® Wireless-N 7260 2X2 BGN with Bluetooth 4.0 wifi card that is installed inside my notebook. Only the Wired Lan was working.
The question I ask is this problem related to no current Ubuntu / Kubuntu drivers for this hardware?
If so where would I be able to locate drivers for the Intel® Wireless-N 7260 2X2 BGN with Bluetooth 4.0 card?
If they do exisit how would i install the drivers onto my notebook?
Thanks for the help

I am a newbie in Linux environment. I own a Toshiba Satellite P300-19F laptop equipped with an onboard bluetooth chipset. Under Windows I can use the bluetooth technology flawlessly. Unfortunately, Ubuntu Lucid Linx does not recognize my BT chipset. Does anyone know how to let it work, please? Is there a way to use the windows driver as ndiswrapper does with wifi drivers? Thanks a lot in advance.
