Bluetooth Audio problem: Gaps in music Ubuntu 14.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 7, 2014
At this moment there is only few thing holding me back to Windows and this is one of the biggest ones: My Bluetooth audio streaming is not working as expected:
When I listen music (usually via Spotify, it can be from Online Spotify or from Client, doesn't matter) it can play just fine trough my home theater, but way too often the music starts to have gaps and it starts skipping forward to "catch" that gap. And time to time it losts the connection entirelly and that is super-annoying, as you can image . Then I have to re-connect which doesn't work all the time straight away, so I have to stop playing music, re-connect and then try again.
Some specs from my computer: Acer aspire V3-771G (i7-versio of the processor) and my bluetooth and WiFI are from Atheros. I have Procaster bluetooth receiver BT-02 in my home theater.
Now running Ubuntu 14.04
Please help me out with this. Thank you!
any bluetooth audio functionality inside ubuntu studio (13.04)?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 25, 2013
for nearly two months i'm trying to use bluetooth audio equipment like headset, handsfree set or external speaker with ubuntu studio.
unfortuneately it always fails. the bluedio H9 headset seems to connect properly but is non functional and the dual BT100 speaker connects for about 2 seconds but looses connection then.
the only device that works thru bluetooth here is my logilink mouse.
just tried it at different computers, with different bluetooth hw. i even bought a new bluetooth 4.0 EDR compliant dongle, but ubuntu studio behaves always in the same way.
meanwhile i'm still wondering whether ubuntu studio supports bluetooth audio devices, or not.
anybody out there who managed to use some bluetooth audio equipement inside ubuntu studio ?
or somebody who shares my expericence ?

location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 16, 2012
i just installed ubuntu 12.04 and had a few issues, im working through them one by one!
Im trying to connect my bluetooth keyboard, not been a problem on windows, apple phone and android phone but i have no success with linux.
it is as if there is no bluetooth on the laptop, i think it may be to do with there being a physical bluetooth button on my acer aspire 5520 that does not light up when i press it.

thanks in advance!
HP Envy m6 bluetooth not working Ubuntu 13.10
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 26, 2014
I have a HP ENVY m6 laptop, which came pre-installed with Windows 8. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 13.10 today in an attempt to use a software to emulate the PS3 controller (In order to play with mouse and KB on the PS3 of course ) since I was kinda tired of Windows 8.1 anyways...
But that software (GIMX) uses bluetooth, which my laptop has built-in.
Ubuntu is starting up with the flight mode (disconnecting wireless activity, like Wifi and bluetooth), except the wifi is working, even though the button is lit red (off).
It is one of those rigs that you have to press FN+F12 to toggle the flight mode, but for some reason it doesn't work...
I've searched for hours on the ubuntu forums after a solution to no avail... So here I am.
The bluetooth is a Railink RT3290.
I've tried the stuff that was recommended, from
sudo unblock all
to writing a bunch of code..
Sorry, but I am a Linux noob after years of not using it properly
I'd love to get the bluetooth working! I can only

Ubuntu 13.04 No Bluetooth Adapter Found
- date: May 10, 2013
Hi, I'm using a Dell Inspiron 14R(N4010) laptop.
I recently did a wipe of my entire system and installed Ubuntu 13.04.
I had tried the live cd before installing but forgot to check if bluetooth is working.
It was working fine when I tested it in another similar system.
There is no bluetooth indicator in the panel, and in the bluetooth settings, it says "No Bluetooth Adapters Found"
The output of rfkill list is as follows:
