How to Customize Ubuntu Live CD iso
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 20, 2012
I am trying to customize ubuntu live cd iso using ubuntu-builder. I removed libreoffice*,ubuntu-docs,gnome-user-docs,translations-de-es-pt. And was able to make iso. But, on booting i got stuck at (initramfs) prompt. After referring to some threads, tried 'exit' command. So, booting started. But, all the commands, like mounting, were having '/root/' in the start of all paths.
I used the wizard method in ubuntu-builder. Can anyone help me out in the correct manual method or some other software to do it right.
Convert bootable USB .img file to bootable CD .iso file
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 10, 2013
I would like to try ChromiumOS on my old laptop. Hexxah doesn't offer a CD image, only a USB one. USB sticks don't boot on this old thing and there is no reference to them in the BIOS setup. It's probably too old for there to be a newer version of the firmware that includes it, and even if there was it's too tricky to mess with just to try out an OS.
The answer would seem to be to convert the .img file to a .iso file, but I don't think this is as simple as it first appears. Is it possible? I wonder whether there is a method which wouldn't work for all USB formats to all CD formats but would work in the specific case of bootable images.

Make bootable usb from unofficial lfs 7.4 live cd iso image
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 15, 2014
I am trying to test an unofficial LFS 7.4 live cd iso image.I downloaded it from here,https://susestudio.com/a/STQFtZ/un-o...fs-livecd-7-4#, after
cloning it and adding "logo" and "setup image of my choice".
I used "Linux live usb creator" to make the usb bootable, but when i boot from the usb i get directed to grub screen instead of setup splash screen as is appearing on "test drive" in "Suse stdio". I don't know the sequence of command or the exact command to proceed from here. Can someone give the command to install from grub screen?
I have also used "UNetBooting" to make it bootable, but after using the bootable usb made from it, it just starts looping during boot time with only "default option" to choose, which does nothing.
Also, i already have ubuntu 13.10 saucy salamnder installed as host with two more partitions not including the root partition for lfs installion purpose.

Ubuntu Desktop CD 32 Bit, Herd 2 ISO
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 16, 2007
I have an Acer w/ x700
I just wanted to note that the live CD continues to exhibit the same bug for this set of laptops that has been around since 6.06 or maybe earlier.
Splash option on boot will cause console corruption, so you must boot without splash. Then you must go to a console when it boots and add:
under xorg.conf section device:
Option "Monitor Layout" "LVDS, CRT"
and restart x to get the live CD working.
Edit: side note: you also still have to sudo modprobe tifm-sd to get the card reader active.
