Install All Ubuntu games at Once?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 9, 2010
Hello, I'm Zornox and I recently Installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my hard drive. I'm wondering if there is a command for Ubuntu that you can Put in the Terminal to install all the games at once.
I know you can do with Fedora because I'm taking a "intro to linux class with Fedora." and my Instructor Insisted that we did the command and Even though it took a while. It worked and installed all the games.
So Yeah. Is there a command like that for Ubuntu?
Any difference between Ubuntu Minimal install vs. Arch Linux install?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 2, 2010
Hello. I'm fairly new to the Linux world. I'm looking into building a lightweight system with either dwm or Openbox as my WM. I've tried using Arch to build a system, but I'm wondering if there are any differences using Ubuntu's minimal install cd and building an Openbox system.
ubuntu minimal install vs arch

1.I was wondering WHY arch is so fast?
2.Can the minimal install + Xorg + Some other useful stuff be as fast as arch?
3.If yes please tell me the light weight equivalents to what Iam using right now.
4.I ONLY have a wireless connection. Is it likely to be a problem? (In jaunty it works out-of-the-box)

Ubuntu Games for kids
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 8, 2006
Does anyone recomend good ubuntu games for kids? This computer has a nice Radeon video card and it would be a shame to not let the kids go nuts with it some (two boys, 8 and 5).
I come from the gentoo world (well, that's the only other linux I've used) and there you can search for ebuilds/packages via the web site. Can you do that with ubuntu? Where can I find that?
Also, you could emerge --search (name/subject) and find stuff. Is there a way to do that with ubuntu? Is it apt-cache search (name/subject)? Is that right?
Any suggestions in that area are greatly appreciated.
possibly add some games to ubuntu repo/"ubuntu games pack"?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 11, 2006
I have had Ubuntu installed as the sole OS on my machine for about a year now, and I have found five games that are irreplaceable. It would be a great boost to Ubuntu, I think, to either have these games in the repos, or at least in a concentrated list of good games for the OS. All of them are FPS games (or FPS/RTS hybrids), but still very good games to showcase the fact that there ARE viable fun games for a linux desktop.
Enemy Territory, which includes two great mods:
Enemy Territory Fortress
Between all of these, my leisure time on my linux desktop is taken. If I'm still starving for some other action, I play freeciv or civ3+cedega.
Any other games that are permanent fixtures on your hd?
Ubuntu Games Arena..where is it now?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 3, 2011
Sorry to ask, but I remember that until some month ago there was a link among the main section of this forum called "ubuntu game arena" or something similar that if clicked would have redirected me to a site (I have no idea if it was affiliated to Ubuntu) with a comprehensive list of all the main games for ubuntu/linux categorised per genre.
Can anybody link me to this site as I can't find it any more.
Ubuntu games for 6 year old, Only the mouse works
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 13, 2011
Can someone please tell me some games that can be played with the mouse only for a 6 year old autistic child? He likes Shoot em up, and racing games, but anything that catches his interest would be great.
The left arrow key doesn't work on the keyboard. So I need ANY game that can be played with the mouse only.
I need ALL the games I can get. He has a very short attention span, and we're snowed in.
Thank you in advance.
