bash script will find your external IP address from the SHELL - then SFTP the IP address to an external site of your choice. Very useful if you have a cable modem or DSL and your ip address changes on you, setup as a cron job so you will always know what your IP address is -

How can I discover the IP address of the drive. My Windows network is using DHCP, though I understand that the drive uses a static address. I know the MAC address of the drive.
