How to remove the previous Ubuntu linux kernel.

Recently, when I go for an update. There is update of kernel. However, since then , I have 2 more options, which are the 2 new version of Kernel and its recovery mode.
I do not know what to do with the Grub as I tried to "c" (Without the " ") and d or e.(Command-Line tried before, Delete a command , edit the command also)
Note: After i finish, I press Esc and there is nothing change. How should I save them. There is no "s" .(Without the " ")
Perhaps, there might be a better way to do. If there is , can anyone kindly say so.
Ubuntu Linux Kernel understanding version numbers
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 15, 2013
Here are some (probably dumb) questions:
Does kernel 2.6.32-46 include kernel 2.6.37 (i.e. everything between x.x.32 and x.x.46)?
What is the a difference between kernel 2.6.32-46 and 2.6.37?
Just trying to get something to work (see https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloa...-stack-release)
Thanks in advance.
Does chip RT5370 has a Ubuntu linux Kernel drive on Oneric Ocelot ?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 26, 2012
I would like to buy a new USB Wife adapter on Ebay. The seller send me the name of the chip which is RT5370. It is a no name product, I don't know who is the manufacturer. So I am a bit careful to buy it.
I have researched whether the chip is supported or not. And in the news of the website http://linuxwireless.org/ from July 2011 it says, Linux 3.0 has added "Initial support for RT5370".
I just don't know what exactly"initial" means in this context ? I suppose it means Linux has a driver for it, right ? Just to make sure.
Other question - When I type in :
And then :
lsusb -v -s 03
Or what ever my Bus Number will be (01 - 05). For the ID Product I get a chip number which is something like
idVendor 0x19d2 ONDA Communication S.p.A.
What is the difference between the form of 0x1008 and the form of RT5370 to identify a chip ? ( This is only an example in which I try to understand how to iden
Ubuntu Linux Kernel 4.2.0 Can I setup the ethernet driver for Intel 82562v2 or should I downgrade kernel to 3?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
My brother received a Dell Inspirion 530S for free from a neighbor and he had me install Linux on it. I went with stock Ubuntu since this is my first time and I figured it would be easiest to use with the most support.
The computer's ethernet controller is
Intel Corporation 82562V-2 10/100 Network Connection
Checking on Intel's website, support for the controller dropped at kernel 3.
Should I revert to 3 or is there some way for me to make it work on 4? What features would I lose by reverting? I don't know if I want my brother to lose access to future updates purely for Ethernet access.
