Ubuntu Netbook Edition
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 3, 2012
Could you suggest where can I find Ubuntu Netbook Edition?
I would like to install it but I can't find it! I read that I could launch Ubuntu installer for Windows, but in the graphical options I don't see the netbook edition ...
I have an Asus Eee PC 1005PE, 2GB of RAM, Intel Atom N450, 1.66 GHz, 1 core, two logical processors. Windows 7 starter.
So Windows sometimes works not very efficiently, I'm looking for a better operating system, and in fact I would like to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition.
If you want, you can suggest alternative Operating systems, still, I would like to find the netbook edition
Thank you for your help
see you later
How to install Ubuntu Netbook Edition to dual boot with XP?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 21, 2011
I have a 160 GB Spaced 'HP Mini 1000' partitioned to two 80 GB drives. On one of them, Windows XP is already installed.
I would like to create a dual boot so that the other empty drive has Ubuntu Netbook edition 10.10.
I am a newbie with Linux, well versed with Windows and decided to venture with learning Linux by doing this.
So far, I have just downloaded the Netbook Edition from the following link.
Can someone please suggest how should I go about installing the Ubuntu netbook edition to dual boot with XP?
Any detailed steps or links would be appreciated.
Ubuntu Netbook edition??
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 10, 2011
Hi, first I would like to say that I installed Ubuntu about 24 hours ago and I am loving it!!! I would like to say thanks to any and all of the developers! Now on to the question.
I think I may have installed the netbook edition by mistake. Then again I am thinking "did it installed it for me based on my hardware?"
I have an AMD Athlon 64bit Dual Core 3ghz, 4gb of ram, and an Nvidia 6150se graphics card. I assume this qualifies me for the desktop version, correct? What led me to believe that I am using the netbook version was me trying to install Macbuntu and it stated that I was on the netbook version.
Thanks in advance.

HOW TO: Install & Optimize Ubuntu Netbook Edition on an Acer Aspire One 110
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 7, 2010
This is a guide that I wrote to be included with netbooks of this model that I repair and sell, just in case the user should need to reinstall the OS at any point. It's a culmination of all the help I've received via the IRC, forums, and Google in my latest (and first real/excensive) Linux adventure.I know this is a very specific or proprietary guide, but since I took the time to make it,(and now the time to heavily edit it to format properly on these forums) I figured I should share it as well, just in case someone, sometime could benefit from it.
The specific netbook this involves (Acer Aspire One 110 [AOA-110]) has a very early generation Intel SSD (solid state drive) and on a normal OS installations it is severely hampered by it's slow write speeds. So we'll be making some tweaks to counter that, and in the end, have a solid machine.
NOTE: As nsche mentioned, these tweaks "should work on any Linux based system installed on one of these SSD based netbooks." Even newer so
