Youtube flash player slow and laggy in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 26, 2012
So I've had the same problem as a lot of people, youtube was extremely laggy even when I played 240p videos and I tried everything, html5 youtube, flash-aid plugin for firefox and whatnot, and they didn't work for me.
Then I enabled "Override automatic cache management" on firefox. It got a little better but still a bit laggy on fullscreen.
Then I thought I'd let Ubuntu use more cache . So if you have the same problem just try this:
sudo gedit /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/70debconf.
Then put this code,:
on that file and then save it.
Next type this code on your terminal
sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get update --fix-missing
and you won’t find apt cache limit again in the next time.
It worked for me!!!
youtube problem Ubuntu 12.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 28, 2012
Hey everyone, I'm a new ubuntu user so please don't criticize or insult me. Usually, i try to find the answers myself but this time I've tried many things but non of them seem to work and it's driving me crazy. I'm aware that flash is a problem but many seem to resolve their issues.
Here's my issue: When I turn my computer on and go to youtube i can see 2 maybe 3 videos. After that it never loads up the video, says, "An error occurred. Please try again later." and instead of the infamous green screen there's is static effect. Sometimes i can't even watch those 2 videos right after startup. This happens both in firefox and chromium
How can I solve it?
If this can help, here it is:
AMD Athlon(tm) II P340 Dual-Core Processor
amd radeon hd 4250
If you need more info please reply. Thanks
Videos on Ubuntu are choppy (Youtube), help?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 29, 2010
On my computer with Ubuntu 10.04, I attempted to watch this video http://banjohut.com/mastercraft_player_deluxe_banjo.htm. Firefox told me that I had missing plugins, so I installed them. It was 3 of them, I forgot there names. They all ended in .swf though. After I installed them, I rebooted my computer. This time, the video showed up but when I played it, it was very choppy. The video was loaded 100%. I then went to youtube and attempted to watch a video and the same thing happened. Basically the video was play, stop, play, stop. It wasn't a continuos motion.
I then used the same internet to play those 2 videos on my crappier specced Windows 98 computer. It played the videos just fine. Got any ideas of how I can get the videos to play fine on the Ubuntu computer? It is a much better computer than the Windows 98 one, so I don't get why I'm having this problem with it.
PS I'm not very good with computers. So, I would appreciate a dumbed down version of instructi

Hello there. I'm a new (Ubuntu) Linux user. I was getting started with my new OS and I noticed that I can partially watch youtube videos. It's a kind of strange problem as I can watch only a few videos. I downloaded the latest adobe flash player and java plugins for Firefox but nothing. I'm pretty sure that this is not an ISP or connection or Internet problem because I can watch these videos via windows OS. Any help?
