Is there a current Guide for Producing your own EC2 AMI from scratch.
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 14, 2012
Can someone point to a "current" guide for producing your own AWS EC2 AMI from scratch on your PC. Note: I am not talking about simply cloning an existing EC2 AMI here but doing it from say your own home PC.
Last time I had a need to do this was a couple years ago and then it only required the following three basic API commands before I had an AMI I could launch. But today I know there is more to it because of changes in AWS and in Ubuntu itself?

Bacula quick start guide for server setup?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 27, 2013
Is there a concise, quick setup guide for Bacula on Ubuntu?
Googling sent me to this http://www.bacula.org/manuals/en/install/install
While this is great and all, trying to walk through the "quick start" of setting Bacula and I just seem to wander in circles following links that take me back to the same place...
I'm setting it up on a headless (thus no GUI) server with a SCSI attached Dell LT02 autochanger.
I'm thinking this isn't really that hard, but having never touched the software some - even the vaugest - hints at the correct direction would sure help.

Do any of you know any good guides to get me started.

Other than that I'm flexible
Guide to Installing and Running MiniDLNA on an Ubuntu Server
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 21, 2011
I have recently been experimenting with running MiniDLNA on a headless Ubuntu Server and have hit a few snags. After a lot of search and a few pointers from this and other forums I have finally managed to get it running fine. In case anyone else has this problem I have written this guide to hopefully take some of the pain out of installing and configuring an amazing program.
My server is a headless HP Microserver running Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS 64 bit edition accessed through Putty and Webmin (www.webmin.com). I have also tried this using a virtual setup using Virtual Box and that also worked fine.
As a receiver, I am using an LG HX806SH Blu-ray player connected to my LAN by a Homeplug adapter. I have also tried using Windows Media Player and they both work fine. I would like to try this with VLC to test it on a Linux desktop but configuring VLC to receive streaming media from a server is beyond me right now.

ubuntu and drupal server guide
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 17, 2012
A few years ago I decided to setup my own home web server using ubuntu server as a base. At the time I knew almost nothing about ubuntu server.
I found drupal was pretty easy to install once you have the sever requirements down but thats the problem. Drupals documentation with regards to how to setup the server is pretty poor in my opinion.
While I found ubuntus guides acceptable I couldnt find any docs I was happy with that linked the ubuntu guides with drupal. Unless you are very familiar with ubuntu/linux its hard to figure out exactly what you need to get drupal working. With this in mind I started writing my own guide aimed at linux hobbysits who are not ubuntu experts.
I've written the guide as far as installing drupal and I'll go over that in the drupal forum but I'd like you guys opinion on the first art of the guide which is a walkthrough on installing a ubuntu server with the focus of getting it ready to run a drupal site. The intention is that anyone even with n
