Windows Application with .NET through PlayOnLinux (WINE?) on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit
- date: August 14, 2013
What do I want to do?
Run this software in Ubuntu 12.04: Achieve Planner by Effexis (http://www.effexis.com/achieve/Achie...19Download.htm).
What have I tried so far?
Installed PlayOnLinux through Software Center(Tried to install .NET. Did not work b/c of 64bit. Did research, then moved on to the following steps.)Installed Wine 1.7 and 1.6 (32bit) within PlayOnLinux using "Tools/Manage Wine Versions"Installed .NET 1.1 (required by Achieve Planner) using the "Install" window's "Install a non-listed program" option.Installed Achieve Planner the same way.Tried this method: http://askubuntu.com/questions/231587/installing-dotnet-2-0-on-64-bit-machine
Where am I now?
Unable to launch Achieve Planner, and unable to interpret the error messages in the log file.
Also, the other method I tried (w/o PlayOnLinux), referenced above, did not get very far, and I got these error messages:
:~$ WINEARCH=win32 WINEP
testing for Linux and windows application

Brand new user here. I have a challenge to install a Windows based WebSphere Application Server V7 and Rational Application Developer v18.104.22.168 with WebSphere Commerce Toolkit v7 fep5 with DB2, replacing the OS with Ubuntu (yes, I know it's not supported, but I just want to use it for running labs and test cases). First question, has anyone tried these applications on ubuntu (I did find some info about installing WebSphere App Server but it was incomplete) and if yes, what flavor of Ubuntu and what versions of the applications? And naturally, if yes, do you have any advice/directions/hints&tips to share?

XenApp Windows Application Delivery to Linux Desktop?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 19, 2008
I have been trying to figure out whether the Citrix XenApp software allows the delivery of Windows Applications to a Linux Desktop... have had no luck with the Citrix website, except for finding that it seems to work on Mac OS X (and apparently the iPhone?).
Thought I would throw the question up here to see if anyone has any information on this, as it would definitely be a huge plus for putting Linux on the Desktop in Enterprise and Education environments... because of this, I am suspecting this feature is not enabled.
Can I run .exe (Microsoft Windows Application) on Ubuntu? If so, how?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 2, 2014
I like running Ubuntu but I still want to run my windows applications. I have looked at wine, but it looks very complicated. I got rid of my Windows OS (my mistake) and want to run applications I saved on my USB. Is there a way to run them?
P.S My computer is quite slow so I can't run a virtual OS.

Ways to run custom windows application in OSx
location: linuxexchange.com - date: June 6, 2013
I would like to know options to run custom windows application (delphi) on MacOS.
I know that the optimal solution would be to re-write the application in objective-c,
but that would take over a year of development.
I know that I could use "bootcamp" or virtual solution.
That includes the expenses of windows + virtual enviroments that is a no-go.
But I wonder if there is a way to actually run windows applications the easy (one click installer) way such as CrossOver or any other similar solutions.
I would be most grateful If you share your ideas!
Can WINE open standalone Windows Application under Linux?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 17, 2014
I just wonder if WINE can open Windows Application under Linux? I have a Windows standalone application which reads some files, runs its own algorithm, and writes results into some files.
If the answer is yes, do you have to have WINE open under Linux and open Windows standalone through WINE like codeweavers?
My ultimate question is this: I have an algorithm coded in Java, at the moment my algorithm repeatedly calls the Windows standalone. If I run my java program under Linux, is it possible to call a Windows application and run it normally with the help of WINE?
I'm not a computer science graduate and I have limited IT knowledge. I appreciate any help and suggestion. Cheers!
How do I monitor the status of a RAID array on an Intel controller from a Windows application?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 13, 2010
I need to check the status of a RAID array on an Intel controller from my Windows application periodically (or be notified about a status change). Specifically, what I need is to find out whether a RAID 5 array is healthy or one of its disks is missing.
I tried parsing output of raidcfg32 (available from the Intel site, see this readme), but it works only with one of servers my application need to monitor. On other servers raidcfg32 reports an ‘unsupported hardware’ error. I also tried CmdTool2, but it was unable to find the controller altogether.
The only remaining option of RAID array monitoring supplied by Intel is a bunch of GUI applications (Intel Matrix Storage Management Console, Intel Rapid Storage Technology).
The controllers in question are: ESB2, 631xESB/632xESB.
I believe I have read through the few posts here on Stack Overflow that are relevant to my problem, and none of them contains an answer. In an answer to the question ‘Can I get Raid disk status by using PS
