Hello! I've been trying to get a headless personal storage and torrent server up and running but I've run into some issues.
(Right now It's attached to a Monitor, kb, and mouse untill I can get VNC working properly)
I followed this guide for the VNC: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=122402
But when I went to test the connection I get this error

Firewall is turned off.
I Cannot Type the Key 'd' (lowercase) in VNC Viewer Connected to a vncserver of Ubuntu 10.10
location: linuxexchange.com - date: March 11, 2012
I set a vncserver in my Ubuntu 10.10 Server, and started the service by vncserver :1, and I could also connect it from my Ultra VNC viewer on my WinXP.
Everything works fine, but I just cannot type the Key d.
Say if I am in a terminal, and I type d, the terminal window will be minimized, and if I type d again, it comes back.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Optionkey with VNC Viewer to remote control a Mac from a Windows 7 PC
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 23, 2011
I use a Mac Mini as Home Entertainment System (no keyboard or mouse connected).
To access the Mac Mini from my Windows 7 PC I use VNC (note the Windows 7 PC has a German keyboard).
My problem is that I can't get the Mac "Option-Key" to work. Googling the internet brought up the following tips (which did not olve the problem):
switching the keyboard to US
using KeyRemap 4 for Mac
Change the VNC Viewer (Ultra VNC,
So I found the special keys configuration in the Mac system preferences > keyboard > special keys. Here I don't manage to make any settings since the remote keyboard (= VNC connection) is not recognised - the system state is "no keyboard connected".
Does anyone know a virtual keyboard I could install?
Do you know any alternatives on how I can get the options-key to work (using a VNC-viewer)?

CentOS 6 VNC Server denies connection
location: linuxexchange.com - date: October 30, 2014
I have set up tigervnc-server on my CentOS 6 machine following this guide. At first everything worked fine, I could connect to the server using TightVNC Viewer on my Windows machine. I left the session running in the background for a while. The server closed the inactive connection, which it also does for ssh or any other connections, so that's still normal. So I reconnected and everything was fine.
Then I decided to add a different user to the VNC users, as I was running my first connections from root. That's where it all broke. I couldn't connect to he server anymore, it always told me that the remote computer denied the connection. I made sure the server ports were open in iptables, tried to reinstall tigervnc-server, changing the config back to how it was before it broke and disabling the Windows Firewall. After reinstalling it, I was able to launch it without setting a vnc password, so it either saved it somehow from before or something broke entirely. None of my attempted fixes
The "Applications, Places, System " menu in vnc viewer is missing.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 18, 2009
My linux is RHEL 5.3.
I start a vnc session and view it in the vnc viewer.
But I can not see the menu of "Applications, Places, System " on the top of the vnc window.
There should be three menus for me in the vnc before.
If I use Alt + F1, I can pop up the application menu.
What's wrong with my account? Thanks.
