[SOLVED] Disable touch screen (ntrig) on Ubuntu 10.04
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 11, 2010
I have a HP tx2 touchsmart laptop and I have installed 32 bit version of Ubuntu 10.04 on it. (Kernel 2.6.32-22)
The touchscreen and the digitizer pen work out of the box, however, the problem is that it disables the touchpad and forces me to use the Digitizer Pen (stylus) which is very annoying.
I have already searched for ways to disable touchscreen without much success, most of the posts discuss enabling it rather than disabling it.The file /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not exist and I have removed the wacom drivers:
sudo apt-get purge wacom-tools xserver-xorg-input-wacom
I believe that ntrig is using some other drivers/packages which may need to be removed.
Ideally, I'd like to enable both Touch Screen and the Touch pad. But I am willing to give up touch screen functionality in favor of the touchpad. Please help or point me in the right direction.
PS: I do not come here often and I might have posted it in the wrong section. Please move the thread or xpost to the appropr

Ipod nano 6th Gen (touch screen)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 11, 2010
Quite surprisingly there is nothing out there about support for the 6th generation nano (with touch screen).
I'm not a big fan of itunes and less of having to hook through VirtualBox to load music. RythmBox only seems to support up to 5th gen.
Has anyone got this working natively in Ubuntu? Feel free to share a HOWTO

Touch Screen Won't Work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 7, 2011
I have a Toshiba M700-S7004 Tablet PC and was sick of Vista, cause, well, it sucks. I installed Jolicloud (Which is ubuntu, no?) and I heard that it included touchscreen support. I booted up and, surprisingly, the touchscreen didn't work... I couldn't find any similar problems with my model series, butin short - I need a simple way to get my touchscreen working and ditch the touchpad and keyboard, and just have it working as a tablet. I have basic knowledge of terminal and are very familiar with most commands. Please help, I don't want to keep Vista only...

Best ultrabook touch screen for linux
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 30, 2012
I would like to buy a touchscreen ultrabook that I can install ubuntu and be able to dual boot with windows 8.
New ultrabook that are coming now with windows 8 have boot loader that is locked with UEFI. Does Ubuntu/linux have a solution to this problem.
Does anyone have any success in installing/booting with minimal hacking ubuntu 12.10 on any new specific ultrabook with touch screen that comes with windows 8. For example
HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4t-1100
Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Ultrabook
Resently I bough and HP desktop. I had to disable UEFI in order to install linux. I was not able to used dual boot with grub. I also had to install ubuntu in a separate SSD drive. These options are not available when considering an ulrabook.
