Problems to connect at http://es.archive.ubuntu.com
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 12, 2011
I have a spanish version of Ubuntu 10.10 and when I try to update packets from Synaptic it freezes because it is trying to connect to a repository that no response (http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/).
If I connect directly, the only thing I have is a pretty "timeout error", meanwhile from http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ I have no problems.
My question is, Is there any problem to switch between "es" and "us" version (or another) into the source list if I have, in this case, a spanish version?
I have problems with this repositories:

Chromium vs Google Chrome. (Any difference at all?)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 8, 2012
Just wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between Google Chrome, and Chromium.
As far as I can tell, the only difference is the colors of the logo, and the name.
Did Google actually do anything?
Or did they just slap their name on it?
Not that I think its a bad thing.

smtp issues in evolution with smtp.mail.me.com at iCloud
- date: May 28, 2012
I have Ubuntu 12.04 and am running evolution 3.2.3.
Virgin email have decided to close non subscriber accounts so I am trying to set up my [email protected]
account in evolution to be my new default account.
I have searched the web for information and tried all that I can but still cannot get smtp to work. I have connected to the imap server to retrieve emails but I cannot get a connection to the smtp server.
I have tried SSL but it will not connect to the server to tell me what type of authentication to use.
When I use TLS on port 587 as recommended, it connnects to the server for the authentication type (plain or login) but no matter which I use, it does not allow me to send.
Is anyone else using me.com on their evolution? If so can anyone point me to a soluton?
android 4.1 "jelly bean" for AT&T
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 11, 2013
Attention AT&T Galaxy Note Users
On 9 May 2013, I launched Kies to backup by Galaxy® Note™ (i717).
To my astonishment, there was the update to Android v4.1.2,
I finished the backup. Applied the update without a hitch.
Now I'm enjoying my "Jelly Bean" powered Note.
When I said, "without a hitch," I was speaking of the update install itself. Obviously, most of my settings were changed because they did not apply to the new 'droid edition. It was a surprise that my use of SwiftKey™ survived.
All of my downloaded apps were still available from the applications pages, but I had to replace them onto home screens. Under J/B, you get a new page when you launch the applications pages. The pages have tabs for "Applications" and "Widgets." Your existing apps and widgets to display their new features enabled under J/B. You can also put widgets on your lock screen.
You can read about J/B details elsewhere along with
Kali live usb issue: at the end of my rope.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 7, 2013
OK so evidently you cannot use unetbootin to make a live USB for Kali. I have been running sudo dd which appeared to work. Now I'm getting a "missing isolinux.bin" error when I try to use the live USB.
I have never had the problems trying to get a simple live USB to work as I have this piece of trash. Probably because I could use unetbootin on it and it just worked. I formatted the USB to be compatible with everything: should I use ext2 ore something?
The USB is 16 gigs in case that matters.
Anyone have a clue about this? I am using ubutnu 12.4 LTS updated today.
