OpenXenManager with XEN Server and xcpxapi?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 6, 2013
I installed a Xen Server by following the documentation here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Se...OpenXenManager
The problem is that I cannot connect to it using OpenXenManager (or any other remote tool) as it only listens on http://localhost:80/
The server is baremetal so there is no GUI and I do not want to install just to be able to run OpenXenManager locally as they do in this tutorial.
I tried to add the option "http-host = 0.0.0.0" or "http-host = <external-ip>" in /etc/xcp/xapi.conf (which is empty by default) but I had no luck with it.
Does anyone know how can I make this server listen to an external interface?

Experience with HALizard and Xen Server Free
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 24, 2013
Hello, currently we are running several Xen Servers Free and the virtual machines reside on the internal storage of the servers. We want to transform the system for High Availability with iSCSI SAN. Unfortunately the Free Xen Server does not provide HA option. HA-Lizard is open source decision which allows to use HA on Free XEN. We built test environment with iSCSI provided by FreeNAS and our test results look great. But we are searching for real life experience in production environment. Any opinion will be appreciated.
Linux Home Server HOWTO
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 5, 2004
EDIT: This HOWTO has now been re-written for Fedora Core 5 (18 Jun 2006).
Im currently drafting an installation guide to configure Linux as a networked home server with all the email, www, smtp, ftp, dns, dhcp, squid, mySQL, samba, NFS (etc) applications documented.
I have currently reached draft status on the first 7 (of 20 odd) chapters and am ready for interested parties to read/test it (there are some little sections still lacking).
Why in the Fedora forum? Because it has been drafted with FC3 specific configurations (yum, up2date, step-by-step install guide), and I would like these tested if possible. These distro specific sections will eventually be moved to annexes in later revisions, allowing it to be a more generic document supporting further distros (the plan anyway).
The HOWTO is currently located at http://www.brennan.id.au while it is being drafted and will be moved on completion.
I appreciate any feedback/comments on the document, particularly if the conc
IRC File Server Howto

I had a tutorial in a Linux mag and can't find it anywhere. If someone was interested in setting up an IRC file server, where would be a good starting point?..
help me choose. vmware esxi or xen server or hyperv
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 18, 2011
I wanted to setup a new virtual environment at work on a server and an older san. This would not be a production setup.
We currently have esx 4.1 in our production. And we also have hyper-v in another test enviroment. However, I was thinking of getting rid of the hyper-v and setting up xenserver.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I stick with hyper-v or go with xen server. Or should I just make our whole virtual network run on vmware, even though the free esxi cannot be managed via v-sphere?
[SOLVED] Xen Server Express Edition with/versus Ubuntu
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 29, 2008
I would like to install a server with Ubuntu & Xen, But if I then search for installation instructions I always get 12-pages of commands to copy/paste with a lot of if-then's and version-dependencies.
There is an easy installation CD of Xen, the ' Xen server express edition', it's a boot-CD with some Linux distro (stripped-down debian-based?).
My question is: is it worthwhile to try getting the same result with an Ubuntu-server installation-with-Xen or would that not give me more advantages then just using the (very-very-)easy installation of just booting the xen-express and installing using that Linux?
Convert CentOS server to Ubuntu Server? Howto do it?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 11, 2009
I am currently trying to convert my entire setup to Ubuntu 100%.
I had a friend of mine set up a CentOS server in my house so I could store my files basicly and back up to it. He put some kind of compression program on it so that it can back up very nicely to blue ray discs, which is pretty neat.
He recently went on a service project in Morroco and will be gone for a year, and I want to convert this server to Ubuntu, and he won't be around to help.
I was wondering what I should back up in order to make this work right and what I need to prepare??? Thanks in advance!
